We bought the 2007 Prius pre-owned with some hesitations as it's previous owner had used it as a company car and had racked up around 172,000 miles driving all around California. I'm happy to say that after 2,000 more miles too and from doctors and hospitals, we've only had minor mechanical issues and that is imperative to enjoying these long distant, and very important, trips. The worst issue being it's reverse beeping function. After years of owning many standard non-hybrid vehicles with half the miles on it, (and with them malfunctioning to the high heavens.) The Prius has really stood out from the rest as a very reliable and hard working car and I am glad to own it.
Story
It's a car you never have to worry about on road trips. Driving from Atlanta, Georgia to Lexington, Kentucky was a very enjoyable breeze with a significant other. I could and would do it again.
Pros
Backup Camera: What I had initially thought to be a silly and unnecessary feature has turned to be a life saver (or should I say rear bumper saver) on many occasions. Interior Dimmer Switch: A great feature that lets me choose how bright or dark I want my dashboard to be. Touch Screen HUD: Originally thought it was a bit excessive, but it turned out to be pretty handy and easier to use. Amazing mileage: I shouldn't have explain why 45 mpg is great.
Cons
Back up alarm: It beeps when you put it in reverse, and the only way to turn it off requires a mixture of pressing buttons, shifting gears, and stepping on the break. Literally. Weak acceleration: Sometimes, flooring it is the only way to get up a hill.

I love the fact that it is extremely fuel efficient. Also, the sound system on the car is exemplary. It is also very sturdy, extremely safe, and I know that it will last me for a long time. I only dislike the outer shape of the car. I have used this car for more than 7 years.
Story
I went to a state park that was on the Long Island sound. The car can navigate through sand extremely well, and the 2 wheel drive is extremely safe.
Pros
Its safety, its amazing fuel efficiency, sound system, stability, easiness to drive, comfortably of seats.
Cons
Aerodynamic structure made it seem a bit "ugly." It struggles to go uphill, you can hear the engine humming.
