I have owned many vehicles but this (2012 Prius) is my first Toyota and I would be willing to say that if it continues to preform to the standard that it is currently (at 30,000 miles) I will be a loyal customer for life. As everyone undoubtedly knowns the Prius has one of the best fuel economies in the automotive world, but this is not the only draw to the brand. The Prius is a very comfortable vehicle that is very well designed. Its internal layout has room for five passengers and that is not cramped, that is comfortable room. My Prius has six cup holders, two glove boxes, a center console storage area, and room below the control console for a phone or other electronic device. The car also sports an all-digital dashboard display that shows speed, real time fuel economy, and energy us... (more)
Story
The first time I drove the car it was almost like piloting an aircraft, because of the control stick and the low hum of the electric engine. The only time you really hear anything from this car is when you are accelerating fast or your battery needs charging.
Pros
Fuel economy (49 to 53 MPGs) - I average about 48 MPGs in my daily commute. Safety rating - With front driver and passenger, as well as side curtain airbags and a backup camera this vehicle is loaded with safety. Interior Space - I have three children, two of which have to sit in child safety seats. The back seat is big enough to accommodate all of them with was important to me in buying this vehicle. Built in Navigation System - It is nice to have this instead of having to rely on my smartphone or needing to purchase a standalone GPS.
Cons
No Heater - The vehicle has a very good A/C but it doesn't come with a heater which would make it a bad choice for a colder climate. Blind spots - The design has many open areas with windows other than those normally found in a car but in my estimation there are a few blind spots that make it hard to navigate when you are parked or looking out the rear view mirror. The rear windshield has a line running through it from the frame of the care that separates the drivers view into top and bottom making it difficult to see some objects behind you and the space between the front and rear window...
