I personally like the way the vehicle is built. The aesthetics look amazing. I like that I have a two-door truck with extra space in the back for 2 people. I can easily fit 5 people in my truck, which makes a great experience when going out. I love the color of my truck, the truck is teal and just looks great. I think for my first vehicle and for what I paid for the 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport performs great.
Story
A memorable story I would like to share is driving with my sister to college in a vehicle we both purchased. We both decided that a vehicle is necessary when obtaining a college degree, and the 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport still runs great to this day. Absolutely love my 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport truck.
Pros
Dodge Dakota Sport 1997 runs well if maintained properly. My truck does well when driving on the highway, I feel safe. I believe my engine runs really if maintained properly, changing out the oil, replenishing transmission oil, and keeping up the alternator making sure to fill any additional fluids that need requirement. I would rate the quality of 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport a 9 out of 10, the vehicle runs good for the price I paid for, which was $1500 from a family member.
Cons
Upon purchasing my 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport from a family member I noticed the breaking system wasn’t that well. Right now, I am having issues with the emergency breaking system and will need to have a certified technician take a look at it. The air conditioner doesn’t work right now, but I can easily find a solution to that by replenishing the air-conditioning unit with Freon. One issue I had with 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport was that the engine pistons wore out and cracked. I had that replaced by getting a new engine, and now the truck works great.
