This is a great family vehicle and the best choice for families with one car. For those in urban areas, and in California, the car qualifies for an HOV sticker, which gets you in the car pool lane with one person. The car is roomy inside. We can fit our baby in a car seat with three dogs. In our first year of ownership, we haven't had any problems. I also likes that we got 0% financing on our car loan.
Historia
The first time I went in the carpool lane alone. I cut 30 minutes off the expected commute time that Google maps was giving me.
A Favor
The best things about the car are that it gets you in the carpool lane with one person in the car. This saves commuting time. The gas mileage is also excellent. It also has comfortable seats, Bluetooth, and cruise control. The seats have the latch system that makes it easy to install car seats. I also feel safe driving in the car with my baby.
En Contra
The car only comes in a limited number of colors. There was no option for a sun roof. The design isn't the most interesting. I did not like how it comes with the GPS/maps program. The Toyota maps program is terrible. It is much better to use Google maps. We never use this feature of the car. The car is also a little bigger, so it can be difficult to find parking when parking is a challenge. It's not a compact car.

This car does everything and then some. Do not let the "car bros" fool you. Those people have never actually driven a Prius. It is great in snow, due to its weight (its center of gravity is shifted low and toward the middle of the car due to the hybrid batteries). It is made like a tank, because it is a Toyota flagship. One of the few Toyota's made in Japan and shipped over here to the states. This is clear when you realize that this car will easily last 20 years with basic maintenance and a battery exchange (not that expensive, by the way).
Historia
I did Uber in this car. I would never do it again, but this car is the only way to make that work profitable.
A Favor
Where to begin? The gas mileage. The cargo space. The extreme low cost of ownership. The build quality. I can go on and on and on and on and on and on. Have you ever met someone who actually owned a Prius and did not like the car?

This plug-in variant of Toyota’s segment-defining Prius is similar in many ways to the conventional hybrid that inspired it. The Prius and Prius Prime share underpinnings in the form of Toyota’s new TNGA platform, a wacky design language, and snooze-worthy performance. The differences between the two cars are important, too. Namely, the Prime adds an EPA-rated 25 miles of all-electric driving range and a large tablet-inspired infotainment screen (in certain trim levels), and it sacrifices a meaningful share of the cargo space found in the regular Prius. The Chevrolet Volt more than doubles the Prius Prime’s electric driving range and is actually more fun to drive, but Toyota’s good-faith effort to improve the Prime’s driving dynamics in this newest generation has moved it up.
Historia
I remember going to visit my friend in the woods and it held up surprisingly very well!
A Favor
Standard active safety tech drive, impressive EPA fuel-economy, comfortable interior.
En Contra
Limited EV range. Brutally boring to drive. Polarizing design.
