I fell in love and still am
I fell in love with this car as soon as I saw it. I was actively looking for just this model and found it. I loved everything about it at the time and I still have it a love it. However, it is old now, and things are starting to need replaced and repaired, so I have to make a decision weather to put extra money into it or not. I have recently put in some money that I think is well worth it, although the car is 18 yrs. Old! It still runs very smooth and never strands me.

Good first car
The Celica that I owned has been a great first car. I have had it in my ownership for about 5 years now and have never had a critical engine failure. However, it has recently become a bit of a money pit as a lot of the undercarriage components have degraded and are continually breaking. Though it is becoming more of a hassle, I blame the weather(and salt use) in my area for the poor condition of the undercarriage and think the build quality of the car is still great.

fast '80s coupe with attractive styling
I purchased a well kept 1985 Toyota Celica in the summer of 2002. This car had 212,000 miles when I purchased it, but performed like new. I loaded the surprisingly roomy trunk and back seat up with many possessions and camping provisions for two people and still had room enough for the driver and two passengers to sit comfortably. The car performed admirably on a cross country voyage. I rate the Celica's handling as the best I ever owned. The car felt safe and stable at very high speeds well in excess of the posted limit. The performance felt natural on both straight Interstate cruising and curved mountain roads. My long drive in the Celica GT from California to Michigan's upper peninsula was very comfortable and enjoyable. The '85 Celica GT had clean exterior styling without the gimmick of excessive plastic trim popular on other sporty cars of the period. The interior was minimalistic by today's standards, but the seating is comfortable, visibility perfect, and instruments are quickly scan able. The cross country trip with two passengers and tons of gear weighing down the Celica didn't stop it from getting me relatively good gas mileage.
