I fell in love and still am
I fell in love with this car as soon as I saw it. I was actively looking for just this model and found it. I loved everything about it at the time and I still have it a love it. However, it is old now, and things are starting to need replaced and repaired, so I have to make a decision weather to put extra money into it or not. I have recently put in some money that I think is well worth it, although the car is 18 yrs. Old! It still runs very smooth and never strands me.

Toyota Celica.
The seventh generation of Toyota Celicas is one car that isn't appreciated very much. Ever since the switch to front-wheel drive, many car enthusiasts couldn't care less about this vehicle, but they're missing out on such a great automobile. Its steering input is very direct and goes where you want it to, while it's also quite easy to toss around due to its low weight and center of gravity. With a bit of lift-off throttle, you can get the rear end to rotate around corners. With the manual transmission, this car is certainly even more worthy of consideration. The throws are relatively short and very direct, and its top gear is tall enough to keep the car at low engine speeds when driving on the highway. Because it shares the same engine as Toyota's Corolla, the car is very reliable and gets more than enough gas mileage for any performance-oriented car. There's not much to dislike about the vehicle, though it can use a bit more power. The interior is kind of small in the rear too, but the option is still there for two more passengers when the front seats are being used. If not, the rear seats can be folded for more cargo space.

Around a year ago, I decided to buy this car from a friend for $2,800. The main reason I bought this car is because my friend is very good at maintaining cars. Combine that fact with how good Toyotas are in general, I knew this was a deal I could not pass up. He did quite a bit of work fixing it up, and it looked brand new like purchasing it straight from a dealer. It had a little over 150,000 miles when I purchased it, and it ran smoothly when I test drove the vehicle. A short time later, I had issues with the car puttering out when it was at a complete stop. After some troubleshooting and going to a mechanic, I had to replace the distributor. I took it on a road trip one state over where I was at and it performed beautifully with no issues. Another thing I had to replace on it was the battery. The battery was around 12 years old and I decided just to purchase a brand new one as I wanted to keep this car for as long as I can. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this car. However, it doesn't perform well on snowy and icy roads. Because of this, it might make me consider purchasing a vehicle with AWD/4WD.
