Kia Sportage is a great little crossover. The price is perfect. Not too expensive yet not so cheap that you think it is going to implode on you in 5 years. The amount of features are great. It has all the necessities without charging your for the non necessities many manufacturers try and stick you with. For example it has AC, this is a necessity, it has heat, cruise control, a radio, and power windows. All in all this car is great it's not to expensive and gives you enough features to be comfortable. Also this car is reliable. I don't wake up every morning wondering if it is going to break down or not. I know it is going to start and if there is a problem I know I won't break the bank fixing it.
Story
Loaded this bad boy up with two pairs of hockey goalie equipment and 3 skaters bags and took it across the country, did great.
Pros
Cheap, functional.
Cons
Low on power. 4 Speed transmission. MPG not that great

I was not looking at this model Kia when I was car shopping, but a test drive quickly moved me into the "Shut up and take my money" category. I knew Kia had a strong reputation for quality, after six years of ownership, I remain happy with my purchase. I needed a car to haul my stuff to art shows, and the Kia Sportage does this with aplomb, providing excellent cargo capacity and handling when fully loaded. I have had very few mechanical issues and the gas mileage is pretty decent for a six-cylinder engine.
Story
Tear-down at art shows can be a viscous free-for-all as a bunch of tired, cranky artists vie for space to load their vehicles. While others struggle with space-hogging full-sized vans or SUVs, my nimble little Kia can fit into small spaces and loads very quickly with its fold-flat seats.
Pros
The Sportage is very roomy. It has good passenger headroom, and the fold-flat front passenger seat comes in very handy when hauling long items. While I got it to transport my canopy, displays, tables and inventory to art shows, it has turned out to be very useful transporting my son's stuff to and from college, including fitting a large mini-fridge in the upright position. One of the things (I know this seems minor) that sold me on the Sportage was the fact that it has dark upholstery -- which the Rondo lacked. The Sportage also handles excellently in snow. The electronic steering control ... (more)
Cons
One feature that I really wish this vehicle had is a lock/unlock button in the cargo compartment. That would be very handy. One other minor negative for the Sportage is how difficult it is to change the front headlight and parking light bulbs. There is a daunting amount of stuff that has to be removed in order to access the bulbs. It also has really terrible FM reception -- very wimpy antenna.
