This is an excellent family car for people with more than two kids. It seats six but is not as big or goofy as a minivan. The sliding rear doors make it easy to get kids in and out. It has excellent gas mileage for a vehicle of its size and it handles like a car, not a van.
Story
This is our second Mazda5. We traded in our old one for a newer model. The next week, we attended an open house at our son's new school. When we were in the parking lot on our way in, we saw an older Mazda5 that looked just like the one we had just traded in. We had to check up close to be sure it wasn't ours. Pros
It is wonderful to be able to fit six but still look and handle like a car. All of the rear seats are foldable which allows you to haul a number of things if necessary.
Cons
The rear cargo area is small if all of the seats are being used. Legroom in the far rear seats is minimal and will not comfortably fit an adult.

I have driven over 100,000 miles in this vehicle. It is not the fastest machine I could ever drive, but it is reliably comfortable and good to drive. Other than a minor issue with the O2 cap sensor malfunctioning, which I had fixed, and one of the original hooks for the driver's side floor mat getting damaged, I have had little problems with it. It has solid gas mileage, is comfortable to sit in, and very resourceful and flexible. I purchased it because I produce videos, and I can tote either actors or lighting and camera equipment - or even both, if I limit the equipment.
Story
Have driven it across the country and back four times. Comfortable ride in a lot of places.
Pros
Consistent ride day after day. Comfortable seating. Flexibility. I can switch it around. Good storage spaces.
Cons
Not the fastest vehicle (more of an issue in very hilly areas such as mid-Georgia, where a truck is better for faster highway commuting). Tires slip a little where there are deep grooves in the road (not common).
