This is an excellent family car for people with more than two kids. It seats six but is not as big or goofy as a minivan. The sliding rear doors make it easy to get kids in and out. It has excellent gas mileage for a vehicle of its size and it handles like a car, not a van.
Story
This is our second Mazda5. We traded in our old one for a newer model. The next week, we attended an open house at our son's new school. When we were in the parking lot on our way in, we saw an older Mazda5 that looked just like the one we had just traded in. We had to check up close to be sure it wasn't ours. After the open house, we went to our car but couldn't get the doors to unlock. We tr... (more)
Pros
It is wonderful to be able to fit six but still look and handle like a car. All of the rear seats are foldable which allows you to haul a number of things if necessary.
Cons
The rear cargo area is small if all of the seats are being used. Legroom in the far rear seats is minimal and will not comfortably fit an adult.

The Mazda 5 runs very well. Seats are comfortable and very few cars offer that 3rd row of seats at such a good price. The third row of seats does not leave much leg room but perfect for the kids. You can fold that last row of seats down flat easily which fits lots of stuff. It is not a quiet ride. You can hear the outside noise but overall not bad. It has 2 USB connections which is always helpful and a large glove compartment. Mileage is about 26 mpg on highway and it is very easy to maintain. The only negative thing found are the manufacturer's struts are not of good quality. You may need tires more often than expected.
Story
I purchased a large build at home book case and creatively was able to slide it all the way in from back to front center console with no issues.
Pros
The 3rd row of seats is a plus and when lying those seats flat, the trunk area is very large. The front 4 seats are very comfortable bucket seats.
Cons
The manufacturer struts are not of good quality. You can hear the outside noise, so it is not a quiet ride. Also, does not come standard with Bluetooth technology.
