I bought this car after having to quit my job, so I was searching for a vehicle that would meet both my budget as well as my need for reliability. While the car is not made with 27-year-old female in mind, this vehicle has certainly withstood all my tests. With over 200,000 miles, the car is well used, but runs like a charm. I have not had to bring it in for any other service than what is required for maintenance. The seats are leather, wide enough to fit my large body, and they are much more comfortable than many of the modern cars I've ridden in. The trunk is also deceptively large, which was a nice surprise. It runs on diesel, so while I was initially shocked at the price difference per gallon, the mileage is actually not bad at all. And who doesn't like a good sun roof?
Story
I was able to pick up an entire woman's bike I bought locally off Facebook Marketplace and fit it in the backseat with both doors closed.
Pros
At the top of my pros list for this car is its reliability, plain and simple. I needed to know I could get to and from work without worrying about a breakdown. So far, so good. The wide, comfortable seats are a solid second pro. And I am more than pleased with the gas mileage.
Cons
As for negatives, there are almost none. The only thing I would complain about would be that the air conditioning seems difficult to fix when it isn't running well. Also, it's such an old model that many mainstream service shops will not even give it an oil change.

1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class - Good while it lasted...which wasn't long.

I was in the market for a used vehicle and I my Dad found the listing for me on craigslist. It was within my price range so I decided to take it for a test drive. It was a beautiful dark green metallic color. There was some paint chipping off but that didn't bother me. I had owned another Mercedes previously, but it was an earlier year and I didn't have it for very long due to the transmission failing. I was really excited to have found another car that was somewhat luxurious and affordable. These cars are just fun to drive. The handling was quite precise and it hugged all the turns. I really enjoyed my car while it lasted. I found it exhausting my funds rather quickly though, as it was a foreign make and model so not many mechanics in my area were willing to work on it. The parts were... (more)
Story
Actually, yes! Very soon after I purchased the vehicle my boyfriend accidentally backed into my front fender completely ruining my headlight assembly and some of the surrounding area! If it had been anyone else I would've flipped. I was baffled but still saw some humor in the situation. I had literally just asked him if he wanted me to back up and he said, "Nah, I have enough room.." Then we h... (more)
Pros
I loved that the seats were heated! Every control inside the car was power and push buttons. To me that is easier than manually rolling the windows down, like I have to do in my present car. The sound system was very good as well. I was instantly hooked on the metallic green color. The car was very sharp looking. I felt really amazing while driving it. Because the frame and the body of the car are made so strong and efficiently, I always felt much safer than I had in my previous cars. A woman in a drive-thru reversed into me and it barely even left a mark! I also rather enjoyed the sun roo... (more)
Cons
I was upset that there was no cup holder equipped. It seems to me that this should be a staple in every vehicle. I found my wallet being drained every time i put gas into the car as it only takes premium. If you put any other grade the car won't work up to proper performance levels. The heater never worked, so I was freezing expect for my legs and backside courtesy of the heated seats. Also, the air conditioner wasn't in working condition. I'm sure this all may have been functioning at some point in time, but I had purchased the car two owners and many years after the fact. I only had the ... (more)
