I've owned this vehicle for almost 10 years (since August 2008) and I couldn't be any happier with the reliability, performance, and prestigious looks. Over the years I've owned several vehicles, and this Mercedes has been the longest I ever held to one car. With more than 120,000 miles driven so far, a single synthetic engine oil change every 13,000 miles as per the manufacturer's recommendations, I could see the precise German engineering in action. This brand, being the very first in the auto industry, is obviously envied by all the other manufacturers worldwide. If there is any drawbacks, I would mention the slightly higher engine noise during idle operation, compared with other luxury vehicles, with the front windows lowered down. Acceleration and ease of switching from automatic ... (more)
Story
A business associate sharing the same building walked over one day and asked me how could you maintain this vehicle looking this great after all these years. He also owned a similar car, but for whatever reason, he thought I always gave personal attention to how my car looked all the times. That was a nice compliment!
Pros
Responsiveness, acceleration, comfortable seating, and excellent options for air conditioning.
Cons
Location of the fuel pump underneath the back seat is a little odd, and can cause a safety hazard case of any leaks.

2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class - A great wagon for a family.

This is a great car for a family as well as someone who loves to drive. As a wagon it has a large cargo space that can be expanded by fully collapsing the split back seats. The rear cargo area also contains third-row seating with seat belts: a great space for kids. The mechanics are wonderful as well!
Story
Driving down a mountain after skiing with the car fully loaded with friends, skis and their gear, we came to a steep turn. Putting it into low gear kept us from skidding on the snowy road with just the brakes. It felt like driving a tank--we were so safe.
Pros
The cargo area on this car is great for vacations and moving college kids to school. The engine is very powerful and responsive so it handles heavy loads and is just fun to drive. Handling is great as well! All-wheel drive is great in the snow.
Cons
The biggest down side is the cost of maintenance: parts are quite expensive. Other than that there really is no negative to this car. Gas mileage is a bit on the low side, but to be expected in a car of this size.
