One of the best vehicles
This is a great vehicle overall. It is very spacious, has a smooth ride, and the engine is rock solid. The Grand Marquis is rightfully a vehicle that appeals to people who are looking for a luxury ride. The trunk space is massive. You can easily fit several pieces of luggage in the rear. It also sits up to six with ease. The V8 is buttery smooth. At it's current weight, you would not expect the car to accelerate so quickly, but it does. The suspension is a bit tight and handles extremely well. Being a 13 year old car, the leather on the seats have endured many hours of sitting, but still remain un-cracked and resilient as ever. The wood accents are not at all faded. With regular maintenance, this car has aged well. It's no wonder that the Grand Marquis/Crown Victoria were top choice for government and private fleet vehicles. It is reliable and I would not hesitate recommending it to any person.

Mercury reliability.
I purchased this 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis in 2009 with only ~30,000 miles driven on it. One of the reasons for purchasing the vehicle was the condition it was in, another was the known quality of manufacturing that came with the Mercury brand, and another was the fact that the layout and controls were the same as prior cars I had driven. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have maintained it as best I can considering it was parked outside without a garage to hide it from the elements. But I have continued routine maintenance either doing it myself or at repair places. The only major expenses I have had to incur were replacing parts that hit their life at 100,000 and 150,000 miles. But I have driven the car for 147,000 miles, and it continues to run almost as well as the day I purchased it.
