We really love the feel of this car. When you get in and shut the door, you can feel the "protection" that you have in this car. It is very heavy and makes you feel safe. My sons were in a fairly bad accident in it. The cops said that they would not be here today if they had been in most any other car. Our Marquis has been with us since 37,000 miles were on the odometer, and we just passed 120,000 miles. We love this vehicle. We haven't had many issues with it either. For the most part, we haven't had to put it in the shop much. Normal, everyday repairs and preventative maintenance. The performance of the car is untouchable, especially in this day and age. You never know when one of these poorly made fiberglass jobs are going to fall apart in an accident. Not a Grand Marquis... (more)

We were moving a friend out of her one-bedroom apartment. She rented this little dolly for her appliances and furniture and filled it up with these things. Solid steel car. Great braking ability. Sturdy turns and twists. Huge trunk. Very comfy seats.
Cons
Gas mileage—approx. 18 mpg. A/C could be better—needs a back temperature control. Too much space for just one.

The Mercury Grand Marquis has always been one of my favorite cars, I always admired the quality of these cars and their sturdy construction. The build quality of this car is exceptional. It's like riding on a cloud. The steering is smooth and the suspension makes most bumps and holes unnoticeable. The interior is very spacious in the front and back and has supple leather seats. The dashboard is trimmed with wood grain.

Road trip to the beach where I had gotten stuck in my previous vehicle, this car managed it no problem

Very sturdy construction, nothing rattles Suspension is very smooth, bumps are hardly noticeable Steering is tight and very responsive Great horsepower and torque V8 engine with common parts and easy access for DIY repair Body on frame construction makes this car very strong Lots of leg room and head room Lots of adjustment in seat position and pedal position Can easily see in all directions, no blind spots

Gas mileage is low due to its weight and V8 engine, 23hwy/18city mpg Longer stopping distance due to its weight Its large size makes parking dificult
