This is a wonderful car. It was designed well and is durable. It has over 180,000 miles on it. This car was able to withstand a cross-country trip, not once but twice. First from CA to VA and then from VA to Montana. It runs in both extreme hot (115 F) and extreme cold (-30 F). It has good clearance which is perfect for me because I've taken it on some pretty rough roads up mountains. I love the interior and how comfortable the ride is. It has good speakers.
Story
I once took my car up to remote camp site on a very rugged road. This car isn't 4-wheel drive, and I was a little worried about getting up the mountain. People with Jeeps headed back down, and this made me nervous, but my Outlander made it all the way up without any problems!
Pros
This vehicle has good speakers. I love the build -- how it doesn't look like a weird car. I like how the car feels when I drive it. It doesn't make any strange or loud noises. It has run for a long time, so I like how durable it is. I had to change the radiator once, and it proved to be very easy unlike some cars. I really enjoy the seat warmers, which come especially handy living in cold Montana.
Cons
I was disappointed that this Outlander was not 4-wheel drive. The A/C stopped working, so it is very brutal in the summer, but I still have heating. I also dislike how Mitsubishi stopped working on cars in America because now it is hard to find someone that will work on my car.

2005 Mitsubishi Outlander - Disappointed.

I love the interior feel of the vehicle and the height was perfect for me. It drives similar to a small car and limited blind spots. The stereo had issues with ejecting cd's and the radio didn't pick up stations very well. The interior held up well against kids and it being used as a work car for construction. I'm an avid outdoor enthusiast and it suited my needs very well for camping and fishing trips.
Story
Diving down a back road to a fishing spot, my car decided to throw the timing belt. That had to be the most interesting day I had in my car.
Pros
Decent on gas. Drives like a small car. Console for the back seat. AWD. Love the lumbar support. Storage under the back floorboard.
Cons
Bad alignment issues, expensive to upkeep, can't order parts to fix the alignment issues, serious issues with rusting under the car. Not easy to do self maintenance on, not enough outlets.
