The very first thing I liked about the vehicle, even before I bought it, was the body style. My Toyota Avalon is a 2004, but I prefer the style of mine better than the style of the 2017's. After purchasing the car, I fell in love with the feel of it. It rides real smooth. It is definitely a luxury car. Another thing I like about it is how quiet it is. Sometimes when its on, I forget. I have to either look at the dashboard to check, or I will push the gas a little to see if it revs up. Crazy, I know. I have been in my car talking to someone, and when I went to put the car in reverse they were shocked that the car was still running because its so quiet. I like how spacious the trunk is. I also like how spacious the inside of the car is. It has very nice leg room. It was used when I bough... (more)
Story
One fun memorable story is, I have never been able to travel in any other vehicle I have had because of the condition of it. So when I finally got something more reliable, I was stuck in the state of mind of denial. I was almost afraid to even do it, but on the other hand, I knew I could. So one day I decided me and my son was going to drive to Texas. I prayed the whole way there. And guess wh... (more)
Pros
The top positive things about this vehicle is when I bought it, it was in great condition and still is. It still rides very good. Its also great on gas. One of my favorite features about this car is the power adjustments. When I need to adjust my seats the power buttons allow the seats to go forward, back, and even tilt to make sure you're in the perfect position for driving. The driver and the passenger seat both have that feature. Another feature I love are the power windows. It feels good to be able to adjust any window I need, or want to adjust, put up or down, from the driver seat. Th... (more)
Cons
One of the top negative things I don't like about the vehicle was the fact that the check engine light was on. Of course no one knew why it was on, and I couldn't afford to pay the Toyota dealership to find out why it was on. Thank God the previous owner wanted the car to be like new when I purchased it, so they paid for everything; the check and the service to fix the problem. But, because the car is still in such great shape and never gave me or the previous owner any problems, slowly but surely things are starting to come up that need to be taken care of either now, or in the near futur... I love my Toyota Avalon XL. Three weeks before buying this car I had never noticed the Avalon. I went to lunch with a coworker and rode in his and remarked how nice it was. He asked if I would like to drive it. I did, and I was hooked. I told my wife about it and we went out to shop for one and we found one that has been my favorite car. Ever.
Story
This car has power for a Toyota. The first road trip we took in it my wife was stopped for doing 80 MPH in a 55 zone and did not realize it because the car was so much smoother and quieter than our Chevy Astro so she did not realize she was speeding!
Pros
The Avalon is well appointed with AC, cruise control, sun roof, power everything. It has both a cassette tape and CD player with JBL speakers. It is very comfortable in the front seat and back seat. The ride is smooth and quiet. For a full size 6 cylinder engine, it gets decent gas mileage, between 25 - 28 mpg. This is a great road car.
Cons
Being the nicest car I have ever owned, I decided to make sure that it was well maintained. Routine maintenance does not come cheap, but it much cheaper than having to make major repairs or replacement. I have over 180,000 miles with only routine parts replacement.
