Ultra reliable, roomy, and full of power the Toyota Avalon brings Lexus level luxury at a Toyota price. The 280-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine and a five-speed automatic with a manumatic feature offer a sporty high performance driving experience. In cabin luxuries such as multi disc CD, dual climate zones, reclining rear seats, and rear sun shade ensure that all passengers ride in comfort. Other comforts include a Smart Key system that unlocks the doors when the key fob is in close proximity and allows the engine to be fired up at the push of a button. No more fishing keys out of your pockets. Hop in and drive. One of the things that could be improved is that in order to allow the reclining rear seats, there is no fold down option to allow large object pass through to the trunk. Rather inste... (more)
Story
In the winter everyone always wants to ride with me because the remote start feature and the heated seats make sure that the car is nice and warm before we even go outside. If you like driving alone don't let anyone know the trick.
Pros
Reliability, comfort, power, luxury, 280-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine, five-speed automatic with a manumatic transmission, smart key, rear reclining seats, roomy.
Cons
No pass through for large objects to the trunk, the car is long, which may make it difficult to park in tighter spaces, does not include backup cameras, window shade is prone to errors that are expensive to fix.

I started off by leasing my Avalon when I was first out of college. I knew, from the very first time that I drove this car, that I would end up buying it. There are so many good things to say about this car. Not only has it held up over 173,000 miles, but I still get great gas mileage to this day. The ride is smooth, it has required very little maintenance, and still looks good on the outside. Sure, small things, like the water pump, will occasionally give out, but that is to be expected with any car. Another great feature of this car is the space. People who ride in my back seat are always telling me how much leg room that they have. I also enjoy the trunk space. I have two young children, and my trunk can hold all of their stuff plus a stroller without a problem. One downside is that... (more)
Story
I have made many many road trips in the vehicle. South Carolina, Florida, Texas, Colorado, and other, more local trips. It is hard to remember all of the good times, but there have been many.
Pros
The best pat of this vehicle is its reliability. It has never had a major problem and runs very well for its age. I also love the fact that it still has such great gas mileage even after all the years of use.
Cons
The negative things about this car is the difficulty in cleaning the seats. With two young kids, they have done quite a number on my seats and I have found them very difficult to get out of the seats.
