I was concerned when buying an SUV that it would be a completely different experience from owning a small sedan like I've normally had. Our previous two cars were Priuses, and I had a lot of concerns about gas mileage. However, I have loved this car. It has a ton of room for my family and our stuff. The gas mileage is, of course, not as good as our Prius, but it still gets very good gas mileage for being such a large vehicle. We have only needed routine maintenance on it in the two years since we've purchased it, and it drives like a dream.
Story
We were once able to fit myself, my husband, our toddler, and both of my in laws into the car and drive through a huge Christmas lights display. However, when it was time to leave the display, my toddler needed to go potty and we were all so shoved in like sardines we came very close to not being able to get him out of the car in time!
Pros
My favorite feature of the vehicle by far is its size. It fights both of my young children's car seats perfectly, and we still have the optional third row. When we do fold down the third row, it leaves plenty of room for luggage, and all the things that go along with traveling with young children. We have driven this car eight-plus hours comfortably. There is so much more room to spread out and stretch our legs. But, despite it being so generous in size, I never feel like I'm driving a boat. This car is a wonderful drive and makes me feel like my family is safe.
Cons
The price point of this vehicle was much higher than we were used to paying, and it does cost a lot more to keep the tank filled.

The interior of the car is functional and high quality. Using the hands-free calling is simple. The gas mileage average is in the lower 20's with over 65,000 miles on the vehicle. The car is well built and the ride is smooth. The AWD works well in the winter tackling slippery, steep hills without problems. We were able to pull an evasive maneuver to avoid a car sliding head on out of control on icy roads without the vehicle sliding out of control. As a hockey mom I run into some trouble with the trunk space. Hauling two large equipment bags (including one goalie) takes up most of the back making it hard for luggage, coolers or other items you may need to take out of town. Also going to the cabin it is difficult to fit our luggage, 2 adults, 2 kids and our three dogs in the vehicle.
Story
Feeling safe enough to drive in winter conditions to take my children to see some pretty amazing sights on some country roads. They were amazed with the pine trees all covered in snow bending down to almost touch the road. They could see out the back window, the front window and the large sun roof that goes all the way back behind their seats.
Pros
Fuel economy. Drivability in poor road conditions. Quality of parts used. Starts right up in cold weather. You can't lock your keys in the car. Spacious 2nd row seating with heated seats.
Cons
Limited room behind the 3rd row seat. Trunk space doesn't fit our sports equipment well (1 regular hockey bag, goalie bag and 2 sets of golf clubs for example when the kids are in summer activities). Auto start isn't an option you can add factory. Small amount of leg room for 3rd row passengers.
