Hope my RAV4 never dies
I have owned my 2004 Toyota RAV4 for 11 years and dread the day when it will have to be replaced. It is a small sport SUV that is the same size (length and width) as most sedans, with a higher wheel-base and more room in the back. This makes tight parking places a breeze while still giving me the benefit of added height when driving at night and through poorly plowed streets. This is the front-wheel drive model and yet still has little problem with the heavy snow we get locally. The inside of the car is still spacious, with plenty of head room. The rear seats fold up and can be easily removed, which is very helpful on my antiquing trips. The engine is quiet and it has good gas mileage (23/28 mpg city/highway), especially when compared to some of my friends' SUVs. Mechanically, there have been no issues, just general annual maintenance (oil changes, one-time brake replacement, tire replacement).

Not built for the snow!
I enjoy driving my Toyota Rav4. This compact SUV accelerates fast, and has been very reliable in most situations. I have driven this truck back and forth from Georgia to Rhode Island several times, and never experienced any mechanical issues. Now, that I currently reside in Rhode Island I find that my Toyota Rav4 does not handle the snow very well. This past winter I experienced several incidences with the traction and overall control of the vehicle. I am a native of Rhode Island, and know how to drive in the snow. Also, when I used a friend's truck I experienced no traction or control issues. The interior of my vehicle is cloth, and still looks brand new. The thing that I like most about this Toyota Rav4 is that besides normal maintenance I have not had to spend any money repairing my vehicle. This vehicle has been there for my family, and I as I raised three children. When my children became of age to obtain there driving permits I taught them how to drive using this vehicle. I remember my daughter saying, “I love driving this car, it is so easy to control.”
