This van was one of the best vans I have ever had. I have kids and I trusted this van with my life. It has antilock doors, air bags all the way around. I had a crash with my kids in the vehicle and they only got scratches from the accident. The van was so big I was able to take out the seats and move a full size couch when I was moving. Great gas mileage 35 city miles. I would only fill it up twice a month and still have gas at the end of the month. Engine was awesome it was very powerful. Depend car when going on long trips. It never broke down. The cons are the air conditioner, and light fixtures. When you had the air conditioner on it would eat up the gas like no tomorrow. So I just kept it off and had the windows down. The light fixtures were horrible. I would go over a bump and it... (more)
Story
My most memorable moment Is driving to are local hospital in Ogdensburg NY when my wives water popped for are first son. We almost had the baby in the van. We still talk about it till this day. And its been over 5 years now.
Pros
Air bags all the way around the van. Very spacious and roomy. Really dependent vehicle never broke down. My favorite features was the speakers very loud. And a really powerful engine.
Cons
The air conditioner, and the light fixtures were the worst. Air conditioner eating up too much gas. And the high beams aren't as bright as other vehicles.

My 2002 Dodge Caravan has some great aspects about it for being a vehicle that is nearly 20 years old. This van has held up through the years, provides pretty decent gas mileage, and has enough space to get just about any job done. It does come with it's own set of flaws and issues. Ever since the radiator had to be replaced heat in the winter and AC in the summer some times go out unexpectedly. However, the van drives without a hitch and that seems like a fair trade off to me.
Story
This van was the vehicle that my wife and I used to bring home our 3rd child from the hospital. We were a bit nervous about using a van with such a large seating area for such a little one but everything worked out just fine.
Pros
One of my favorite features of this vehicle is the simplicity of the dashboard. Newer vehicles have far too complicated dashboard features that are installed and come standard for vanity purposes. However, this van has a simple cassette/radio/clock interface with the knobs and buttons for the heating/cooling. Another great feature of this van is the quality of the engine, it just keeps on going. After well over 200,000 miles the van still starts up right away and you don't have to worry if there will be break downs.
Cons
A serious negative side about the van is the radiator. I'm not sure if all Dodge Caravans have this issue or if the problem was specific to this particular vehicle but the radiator had to be completely replaced at about 180,000 miles. Since the replacement of the radiator there has been some type of fluid leak underneath the van. I have a joke about the van of "if there is no oil under it, there's probably no oil in it."
