Dodge Neon is one of the most reliable cars every made in America. It is a Dodge, which is a guarantee of a firm and stable car, which everyone would like to drive. My Neon has over 140000 miles on it, but still drives like new. It produces a great amount of acceleration even though it has only 4 gears. It starts perfectly and smoothly no matter if it is 110 F or 20 F outside, you can bet that you will get from point A to point B in no time. Moreover, it is one of the most economical cars I've had. It does 35 miles per gallon, which compared to the large SUVs and pickups is a great treat to your pocket and wallet. It has power windows, power mirrors, full automatic, CD radio, and even a sun roof (which is incredible for driving and smoking a nice Caribbean cigar). Even though it is not... (more)
Story
Once I went with my Neon fishing. I love doing that in warm summer mornings. It was very early, around 4 a.m. And still dark. When I arrived at the pond near my town, I didn't see where the edge is, so I ran in the water almost to the top of my tires. I didn't panic, but put on reverse and within a few minutes I got back safely on the bank. Great off-road experience!
Pros
It is a very reliable car, it will never leave you on the road. It is economical and cheap to maintain. You can drive it up to 200 miles a day and it will just ask for more. The trunk is big and has a very net trunk pass where you can put your golf clubs or skis.
Cons
It is a little noisy from inside and is not luxurious. It doesn't come with leather upholstery. Looses a big share of its value in the first two years.

I have a 2005 Dodge Neon that I bought used in 2009. I absolutely love my car. Currently it has over 150,000 miles on it. The only mechanical problems that I have had has been the timing belt(thankfully it didn't do any damage when it snapped). The alternator went out so changed out the water pump at the same time ( took me less than 30 minutes to do alternator and another 20 for the water pump). I feel extremely safe putting my child in this car and the backseat works for 95% of car seats/boosters. I only run full synthetic oil and always change it myself (super simple to do). Very sad that this car is no longer in production.
Story
Driving for the first time ever on ice. Car did awesome, me, not so much. I was a complete and total mess. Took me 3 hours for a 10 minute drive. Cried all the way. No, it wasn't that icy, I had no experience and I never even slid. Only took me about 2 weeks to calm down. !! Oh did I mention that I am born and raised in Texas. We don't see ice or snow enough to know what to do when it does sho... (more)
Pros
Low maintenance cost and simple to work on yourself, no I'm not a mechanic. High miles and still drives the same as when I bought it.
Cons
No longer in production. Has a tendency to throw the cam and crank shaft censors.
