I was given my GMC Sierra in 2011 as a college graduation gift. I loved it for the first 6 months I had it. However, in December of that year, there was a problem with the key ignition. Sometimes when I would try to start the vehicle, I could not get it to start. After multiple trips to the dealership, which almost had me approaching the appropriate lemon law of my state, the problem was determined to be a faulty radio wire. Replacement of the radio has turned this truck into the love of my life. This was a once in a lifetime mess up by GMC, but they were able to fix it, and the truck has run great ever since.
Story
This vehicle has been with me through 70 thousand miles in less than five years. I am a baseball player and I travel a lot for my job. I have driven this truck to Minnesota, Chicago (twice), Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, all to and from Louisiana. It is very spacious and allows me to carry so many things on my trips.
Pros
The best parts of the truck, to me, are the great radio, the spacious cab, and I feel as though I am well protected while I am in it. It is extremely quiet inside the vehicle, and the truck runs very smoothly, as long as I have the tires rotated and aligned. I also enjoy the two glove compartments that are part of it, as well as the XM and the AUX plug in.
Cons
I do not really have too many negative things to say other than the mess up with the radio, as I mentioned before. This truck has been nothing but a blessing to me.

2011 GMC Sierra 1500 - It has lots of electrical problems, is not made as well as the 2005 model, and is not as attractive as previous models. It is also not comfortable to ride in or sit in. (Even in a non 4x4)

I like the color. I like the stereo system. The leather seats are uncomfortable. It is hard to get in and out of even with step guards. I like the look except for the well flairs and the grill. I hate the electrical system. The right door will not lock correctly. The alarm goes off for no reason. The drivers side seat almost killed me by squashing me up against the steering wheel. It needs better lighting inside the front and back seats. It needs more storage compartments and less plastic parts. One more positive is that the motor has been ok so far.
Story
I can not think of one. It is too big and is not fun to drive. It is dangerous.
Pros
The stereo and the motor are the main things that I am satisfied with.
Cons
The electrical system in all areas needs to be redone. The security system is broken. The doors will not work and lock correctly. The alarm goes off all the time for no reason. It does not look as good as the 2005 model and is not made as well. It has too much plastic. Even the paint is coming off the door handles and we can see that the door handles are plastic. We liked the 2005 much better. There was more metal and it saved my mom and dad's life.
