I really love this car. It has ample room to fit all of your friends and whatever you need to haul. It can go anywhere on and off road. I love to go camping with it.
Story
Finding the picnic table.
Pros
Real time 4 wheel drive will keep you going the right way on the iciest of roads. Roomy interior will fit a standard clothes dryer with the seats folded down. The boot has a hidden picnic table.
Cons
The U joints are weak and snap if there is a lot of weight that you're towing.

This has been a really good car, but after four teenagers drove it, it's showing its age. I would gladly get another CRV, but after four years of ownership of my current vehicle, it's clearly not going to last much longer. My 1997 Honda CRV has been used actively for more than a decade. It's definitely a good car and will last you for a long time if it's in good condition, but it's not a great car. It's probably a car that's best for college students or new drives.
Story
It's not fun, but it was definitely memorable. Just after I got this car, I went for a drive on a highway when it was snow and sleeting super hard. I had horrible visibility as my wind-shield wipers got caked in ice. I ended up hitting a patch of ice, swerving, doing a doughnut and sliding off the highway onto the shoulder. The car's brakes kept me on the shoulder and not in the ditch, and onc... (more)
Pros
This car is fairly cheap, as it's already a 21-year-old car, which means that it's good for drivers who don't drive a lot or new, inexperienced drivers. It handles well, and it's really easy to navigate in tight spaces and on sharp turns. The pedals are super responsive, and it's very enjoyable to drive for long stretches as the seats are actually pretty comfortable.
Cons
This cars greatest weakness, in my opinion, is its fuel economy. Back when I first started driving this car, I'd only have to fill it up once every 400-500 miles, but now, five years later, it's definitely showing its age. I'm lucky if I can get it above 350 miles per take. The other big issue, and granted this may have been an issue with my mechanic, the muffler on these can go bad really easily, and replacing them can be difficult.
