We wanted to buy a vehicle that had more transporting flexibility then our Honda accord did but didn't have the high price and low gas mileage of a truck. We found both of those in the CR-V. The back seats fold all the way down if you need to loud with bags of dirt or luggage. It also came with the option to put on a roof rack and removable bike rack. We have had it for a little over five years in that time the only problem we have had with it is the A/C and a noise driver seat door lock. But both ended up being covered under a Honda recalls so we didn't have to pay for the repairs. I have noticed that because of the angle of the wind shield the wind gets cracks in it more often then or Honda accord does.
Story
Drove it to Bandelier National Park, the GPS sent us the wrong way and we ended up of a very very "off road" road up the side of the mountain. It was a lot of fun and thank God we didn't get stuck or have a flat tire. But turning around on a very skinny road at the top of a mountain is an experience I will never forget.
Pros
1. Easy to drive 2. Good price 3. Lots of room for haling stuff 4. Good gas mileage 5. Good price 6. No problems with engine
Cons
1. Kind of loud "a whistling sound" 2. A/C went out 3. Windshield cracks easily

I absolutely hate this car! My mother originally bought it new and sold it to me later when she got a new car so I've been there for the entire life of this car and I have to say, it's been a sad existence. This car is obviously made poorly because the seats are sagging (even though we're not an overweight family) and the "stuffing" is floppy and unsupportive. This car is unattractive and started declining quickly. The features it has quickly started to malfunction and it has had several recalls over the years. Even when keeping up with the maintenance, it's not holding up. I hope it fails emissions this year so I can finally justify getting rid of this awful mistake. This car should have been aborted.
Story
One time, my car was vibrating so loudly at the gas station that a "dad figure" who also happened to be a mechanic walked over from 4 pumps down and asked if he could look under the hood because he's "never heard a car make that sound." It was embarrassing.
Pros
Even though it's like pulling teeth, I guess I can grasp at a few straws here to come up with some "pros." I would like to emphasize that these "pros" are not meant to indicate that I would ever recommend this car. The trunk has decent storage and does making grocery shopping alright. There is an insert that can be put in the trunk so that it's 2 layers. I have personally never found a use for it but I'm sure someone could. The transmission lever is in a convenient location. The windows still work. The tires have never fallen off. The brakes have never went out. It hasn't killed me yet.
Cons
This headlights are awful! They aren't nearly bright enough. The car started vibrating/shaking after the first 2 years. I have taken it to the dealership and over a dozen mechanics over the years. No one knows why. Anytime I drive between 20-30 or 40-45 or 55-70, the car shakes. It starts slow during the first 1- seconds and gradually gets more violent. Then, a metallic rattling sound starts and the whole vehicle shakes. The light on the mirror has gone out. The "reading lights" up front have gone out. I've tried having them looked and at they still don't work. Sometimes, they vehicle door... (more)
