This CRV is the 7th vehicle I have driven in my 30 years of driving. I've driven sports cars, sedans, two seaters, and trucks. This vehicle is without a doubt the best vehicle I have ever driven. It is solid, well built, handles well at highway speeds, as well as easy, smooth driving around town. The general substance of the CRV is outstanding, rock solid. And I've been driving it now for 11 years. After 11 years, on every single other car I have driven, the steering wheel surface has deteriorated...Not so with this car. The CRV's steering wheel is like new...Crisp and clean. Though I do take car of my vehicles, the CRV seems to require less care than other cars I've owned. The usual distress marks of older cars (i.e. dash cracks, seat seam tears, interior top sag, none of that is happ... (more)
Story
We live on a farm. My wife bought a llama for me for Christmas one year and brought it home in the CRV's backseat. This car can handle all circumstances, no problem.
Pros
Solid drive. Tight handling. Elevated from roadway. Small for compact spaces. Enough power for quick highway acceleration.
Cons
A/C out at 10 years. Driver's key lock broken.

I purchased my Honda CR-V new in 2003. It has been a pretty reliable vehicle. It had been our main family vehicle, but now that it has 185,000 miles on it we use it mainly to drive around town. The vehicle is all wheel drive which comes in handy for wet roads or light snow. I would describe it as a small SUV but it can seat up to 5 people and has quite a bit of room behind the rear seat for storage. For the most part, I have just had to do regular routine maintenance on the vehicle.
Story
It has gone with us on many family vacations
Pros
I purchased my brand new 2003 Honda CR-V for around $20,000 in 2003. I have owned the vehicle for 13 years and feel that it has been a good value and provided reliable transportation. It drives well and seems to get pretty good gas mileage, although I don't keep track of the exact numbers. It has a pretty good stock stereo that has withstood years of loud music. The moon roof is nice to let fresh air in the vehicle on pleasant days and evenings. The CR-V has a somewhat sport appearance but still makes for a good family vehicle. The acceleration is good for a 4 cylinder vehicle. The brakes ... (more)
Cons
The main two issues I have with this vehicle have been the air-conditioning and the paint job. I have had to replace the air-conditioning condenser twice and it has now gone out a third time. I am not replacing it this time because of the age and mileage on the vehicle. Each time I have replaced the condenser it cost over $1500. The other issue I have had with the vehicle is it's paint job. A few years ago the clear coat on the vehicle began to deteriorate. Now the vehicle has major oxidation on the hood and top. I have seen other 2003 Honda CRV-s that have had similar issue, so I believe ... (more)
