The 2006 Honda Odyssey is a simple and reliable family vehicle. The blue color was a nice touch to my purchase, as its color is a mixture of gray and blue. Personally, the Honda brand is on top of the better performing vehicles with great resale value. I have not had any issues driving and using this vehicle. This model specifically has a lot of room to move around and use. The inside of the vehicle and trunk are spacious; therefore, you can take your family on great excursions and road trips without the worry of space. This vehicle seats at least eight people and has an electronic door on the back sides, making it easy to open the doors for your children if your hands are full. The doors and windows are child proof and do not open if the vehicle is running; a great safety feature for ... (more)
Story
I love the size of this vehicle, and one fun memory I have is being able to use this vehicle for a "picnic" day with my young children. It was during a rainy season in central California. My kids were a bit bored being indoors and at home for a few days. So we packed a nice lunch, drinks and dessert, and I drove us to the country, parked the vehicle on the side of the orchard trees and we ate ... (more)
Pros
The top positive things about this vehicle are the vehicle and trunk space; movability inside the vehicle; electrical side doors that slide back rather than open out, which prevents child from hitting a car next to the vehicle when the door is open and the vehicle is parked; and the electric seat mover for the driver seat. This makes it easy to adjust the seat even if I am driving the car or at a stop sign. Overall, this vehicle is easy to drive for its more larger scale model.
Cons
The top negative things about this vehicle is that I would prefer the gas mileage on this vehicle to be more and that there would be a radio code somehow in the vehicle since retrieving the code is impossible if the battery dies and is replaced. I am having this issue currently, and since it is an older model, I have yet to retrieve the radio code, so I have been driving without the use of the radio.

2006 Honda Odyssey - Great car for family trips.

This is the nicest car that I have ever enjoyed having in my last 7 years. Being in the mini-van category, it was a upgrade for me from my earlier Infiniti. The timing worked out well for me as my parents / in-laws were visiting us and we wanted to go to multiple places together in the few months they were here. We made trips to Niagara, New York, Washington, Cincinnati, Tennessee, etc. The travel was very smooth. The brand is reliable. I am at 130000 miles and the engine or the car has no significant problems. As I bought it as used car at 90000 miles, I was aware that I had to do the scheduled big $ maintenance ($ 1500+) for belt / pump when the mileage reached 100000 miles. No other major issues. Love this car.
Story
Long distance travels are easier. We made trips to Niagara, New York, Washington, Cincinnati, Tennessee, etc. The travel was very smooth. With more space and TV inside, the travel was very much enjoyable
Pros
The last row of seats are foldable making enough convertible space in the trunk. The middle seats are removable making more space as needed. With those two rows of seats being converted to storage, I have moved many small furniture when I bought them. Also when I moved to my new house, I did a couple of trips on my car where I moved about 25-35% of my house. My friends always borrow the van from me for the space it provides. My van also has a holding structure in the roof. I can carry big items like mattress on the top when I buy it. You can convert this to a 8 seater from 7 seater since t... (more)
Cons
My navigation CD is not working. I chose not to buy a new CD since it was $ 150 for one update. Who wants that when we have all the navigation in our phone these days? A piece of rubber on top of the roof is peeling off and probably needs to be pasted, Seems like a small maintenance issue. Rust starts appealing beneath the paint in the last few months which I am advised should be seen by a body building people. If you lose your keys, Honda charges about $ 100 for a key to be remade. Those cannot be made locally since the keys need to be ordered at Honda dealership. I did not measure the mi... (more)
