2011 Nissan Rogue - Love my Nissan

I love the build of my Nissan Rogue. It's big enough to be an SUV, but still compact enough where it doesn't feel too large to drive. One of my favorite features, is that it has four-wheel drive. This was a major concern for me, because I live in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin. The performance of the car is great, and in the past four years I have never had any issues with its reliability. Also, it gets great fuel economy compared to other SUV's that I had looked at.
Story
I've taken this car on many road trips. My favorite was a 10 hour drive to national park. Our family had a blast, and we were at ease to know our car would get us there and back safely.
Pros
It drives extremely smooth. Nissan's have a different mechanism for speed, therefore I never feel it shifting gears when accelerating.
Cons
In the winter months, it can make a weird rattle sound when I turn on the heat. I live in Wisconsin where it can get to -50, and sometimes the engine can take a while to heat up.

2011 Nissan Rogue - Quite reliable.

I was so excited when I first got it as I thought that both the interior and exterior were very nice and I had always heard good things about Nissan. When I bought the car 3 years ago, it had 75,000 miles on it. My family and I travel a lot so it now has over 200,000 miles on it. We are bad about doing regular maintenance and the car has been in 1 big accident and 2 small accidents since, yet it still runs like a champ. Mostly.
Story
We were trying to get to a lake that is up a mountain. It was our first time going to it and when we arrived, it turned out to be more of a Jeep trail. We decided to give it a try anyway and managed to make it up all the way! Everyone up at the lake had the most flabbergasted looks on their face when they saw our vehicle and we enjoyed the bumpy ride up!
Pros
The biggest pro with this car is how reliable it is! After the first big accident (big enough to break off the front bumper, washer fluid container, and knock the serpentine belt out of place) the car still ran fine. A year and a half later, it was sandwiched (rear ended and pushed into a vehicle in front) and then rear ended again 2 weeks later, the body has held up fairly well and again, the car still runs just fine. This cars a champ! The gas mileage on it is approximately 26 miles/gal. It lets you know how many miles you have left before you need more gas, the temperature outside, when... (more)
Cons
Our biggest issue with this car was that at 100,000 miles, we had to replace the transmission. Apparently Nissan Rogues of this year had been having this issue and Nissan had sent out a recall for some of their vehicles. When we called, we were told ours was not on the recall list but other 2011 Nissan Rogues were. We have also had continuing small electrical issues with the car. Also, as most people know, Nissan is a bit different with parts and maintenance. AKA you have to dish out more money.
