The Nissan Rogue is part of crowded market that contains the Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda CR-V, Ford Escape. etc. I was able to test drive most of these vehicles and decided to go with the Rogue for a number of reasons. The handling on the Rogue provided much more feedback that any of the other vehicles, and I actually felt like I was driving a sedan. I also liked how the interior space was more than enough all of the seats and the trunk. Couple that with the a pretty mpg on gas and I was sold. Quality of interior is nothing to write home about, but it's good enough for me. Other than that, I have had no issues with the SUV, and I'm very satisfied with my choice.
Story
This car does have some pickup speed when you go into sport mode. I was able to outrace a newer Ford Explorer on the highway just for the fun of it. I was able to get up to 80 mph pretty easily to get past the other car. So, it can be a somewhat fun vehicle to drive if you feel the need for speed.
Pros
For the price point and space you get with this SUV, it really beats out some of the competitors out there. From a handling standpoint, I really enjoy the feedback from the steering wheel. It doesn't feel like I'm driving a big boat around. If you use your phone to listen to car music, then the Nissan infotainment system is easy to use and set up. It's outdated, but syncs with your phone very quickly. I've hit 20K miles now and have not had any issues with the car.
Cons
I never liked the Nissan CVT transmissions and I still don't. It can react in very unconventional ways if you do not push the gas pedal correctly. Sometimes, it'll shift down to a random gear and rev the engine high. Other times, you'll need to switch to sport mode just to get up to speed. Other than that, everything else is pretty good with the SUV.

2017 Nissan Rogue - Great features with a near-perfect ride.

When I purchased a crossover, I was expecting a fairly substantial drop in mileage, but was surprised to find that I’ve only lost about 5-7 MPG in comparison to my compact. Transmission is smooth, turns are tight, my only complaint being that when braking at high speeds, the ABS system becomes very noticeable. My Nissan Rogue came with all of the bells and whistles I was hoping for in a newer model, and I love it so far.
Story
Recently, my father and I took our first mountain drive in my new car. In the past, we drove my old Civic, which was reliable but had no bells and whistles. Having all of my favorite mountain tunes on Bluetooth, ready to go, in my new spacious car was so much more enjoyable.
Pros
Driving is a breeze, with lovely handling for a crossover and fantastic mileage. Blind spot indicators help me to feel safe when changing lanes at high speeds, and the backup camera system includes a dual display that shows the position of the car from above so you may see it in relation to other objects. The Bluetooth system is superb, as are the creature comforts like the seats and air system.
Cons
While driving at high speeds, braking feels unpleasant. It may be the ABS system kicking in, but one can feel a slight but consistent shimmy until you let up or are down at a lower speed.
