My vehicle is a 2013 Nissan Rogue SL, and it has a lot of extra features that I had never had in my previous car. It has five seats total, three in the back along with the driver's seat and the passenger's seat. There is a large trunk that opens up to store many different types of cargo. The interior is made up of black leather seats and black carpeting. It is pretty basic in terms of exterior looks. My particular car is silver, and while it doesn't stand out in a crowd, it looks nice on its own. The inside of the car is filled with features that do not come on the basic model. There is a touchscreen system that has built-in GPS features as well as a Bose sound system that is upgraded from the base model in terms of sound quality. The music listening experiences is markedly different i... (more)
Story
I love to load my dogs into the car and take them for hikes during the summer months. There is plenty of space for them to relax and fit safely in the car.
Pros
The Nissan Rogue SL has a nice exterior and a detailed interior that is proof that Nissan pays attention to detail. Black leather seats give the car a sense of luxury that cloth seats simply cannot replicate. The leather has stayed intact through extreme temperatures. There is no sign of wear and tear or any cracks or damage that can sometimes occur with leather seats. There are heated seats in the driver and passenger seats, which is great for cold Northeastern winters. There is a Bose sound system and a touchscreen display that includes a built-in GPS. The leather seats are easy to clean... (more)
Cons
The entirely black interior makes the car extremely hot in the summer months. The leather seats can be difficult as well; they become extremely hot. The driver, as well as other passengers in the car, have difficulty with sticking to the leather seats. The black carpeting is a magnet for pet hair and is very difficult to vacuum. Having pets that frequently ride in the car is a bit of a hassle because it has been difficult to find seat covers that will fit the car properly, so pet hair tends to accumulate in the carpeting despite my best efforts. The gas mileage could be better. Living in a... (more)

The vehicle has lasted about 100,000 miles and is still running with few problems. There's a fair amount of engine noise, the seat squeaks, and it doesn't feel like a very solidly built vehicle. I've never had any problems with the stereo system or things such as breaks and steering. I've used it to carry home purchased furniture, such as chairs, tall lamps, nightstands, and a jewelry armoire with no problem. Similarly, I've hauled many items to donate on many occasions, also with no problem. I've packed it full of clothing items, games, toys, furniture, and home decor items and all of it has fit. There's plenty of room. I've also taken several road trips in the vehicle with my family. The kids (two of them) have plenty of room to spread out and play games and lay on their pillows. I w... Story
My family took a road trip from Oklahoma to Missouri in our Nissan Rogue. The girls spread out in the back with pillows and blankets, and each had their phones out the entire trip. They also had the back seat full of snacks and drinks. You would have thought we were going on a cross-country trip. They were comfortable in the back seat, and we had a great time.
Pros
I like the amount of room it provides. It has plenty of room for me, my husband, and our two kids. We are able to haul luggage, groceries, furniture, donations, etc., with no trouble. I've had few problems with the car, and it has 100,000 miles on it. I feel that it will continue to run well for another 50,000-100,000 miles with few problems.
Cons
While this vehicle offers a great deal of space, it would not work for a larger family. Three people in the back seat is too many. The car makes a lot of noise, from engine noise to squeaky seats, but there doesn't appear to be any problems that are the cause of the noise. It's not the best quality vehicle you could buy, but it's okay.
