I have owned my 2009 Toyota Matrix hatchback for two years now, and it is a great commuter car. It has never given me problems. I even took it from Washington to California twice, and it performed great. It has smooth steering that is great for beginners. My Matrix has a unique color. It's a really cool burnt orange that definitely turns heads whenever out on the road. Its body is rounder in the back, providing a decent amount of trunk space. I have picked up three people from the airport and was able to fit all four of their suitcases in the back. Overall, it's a great car for your average Joe who just wants to go here and there or for the young driver. Even with the base model, you still feel like you aren't missing out on more luxurious features.
Story
My car has a very unique color, an odd burnt orange, and one day, while driving through a parking lot and passing a Starbucks, an employee taking out the trash pointed out our car to his coworker, and I saw them mention how interesting the color was. While driving through Seattle, I saw an identical car, which is pretty rare and saw and older woman driving it. It's funny because my car used to... (more)
Pros
Unique body. Cozy interior but doesn't feel cramped. Good room for a large car seat. Even with the drivers seat pushed all the way back, there is still a good amount of leg room for passengers in the back.
Cons
Unfortunately, Toyota has phased out the Matrix model, so it is no longer available in newer models. Gas mileage could be better. I get about 300 miles on a tank. Because it's a hatchback, it has a weird little window in the rear that can make it a little difficult to check your blind spot.

I bought this car in 2013 after my Saturn had completely died. I was in need of a car and did not have a lot to purchase with. The 2008 matrix had about 80k miles and only one owner, the price was right and with the brand I couldn't do much better. This car has been one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever owned and the most reliable used car I've ever owned. Mileage is good and it is a comfortable ride on my 2 hour commute. The stock stereo was good but I needed a little more so that's been the only real upgrade I've made. All in all this is a fantastic car for the money.
Story
I don't have a specific story, but the most fun I have is when I'm taking my kid out for a long drive, whether to my parents house or out to Seattle to go to Mox Boarding House or Archie McPhee's.
Pros
Comfortable, leg room head room, good storage space. Can fit my family comfortably.
Cons
Stock stereo not so great.

They were very helpful when I arrived at the dealership. The dealer walked around and showed me the cars within my price range, and encouraged me toward the car I purchased. They told me everything that I needed to know about the model of Toyota that I was buying. The test drive was smooth, and the transaction was swift. I was really happy with the customer service.

They gave me a good price and were very personable and willing to work with my needs. They were not trying to up sell me something that I could not afford. Joon Song provided all the information I needed to get a deal I was looking for within my budget. I never felt like I was being manipulated or swooned into buying something I did need,
