I absolutely love my 2013 VW Golf. I bought the car from Hertz with about 42k miles on it. I've had it for a few months and it's one of the best purchases that I have ever made. For the price, the ride quality of the car is simply unbeatable. It is a lot of fun to drive and with 170hp to play around with, it's much better than the average appliance car. The interior is very beautifully styled. While the car may not have many "toys" that other models of the same year have (navigation/Bluetooth/rearview camera) this money has been put into building into a quality interior, which imitates that of a higher end car. Story
I like driving my car around a local scenic lake and watching the sunset. The sound isolation is incredible and I can listen to any music that I like with barely any background noise.
Pros
I love the handling and the versatility of the car.
Cons
Gas mileage and driver side blind spot.

I own a 2013 Volkswagen Golf TDI. It has a 140 hp turbocharged diesel engine. I have owned three previous VWs in the past all good cars. I plan on holding onto this one for as long as possible. In general I find VWs to be reliable vehicles and also very safe to drive. That is why I keep coming back to them. I have driven my Golf across the country on a road trip back to where I grew up. It was a 20+ hour trip but I found the vehicle to be roomy and comfortable for the entire journey.
Story
As of yet I have not taken my car on any really exciting road trips like I have been on in the past but I am planning a trip to Alaska in the next year or so that I will be bringing my car on.
Pros
The number one thing for me that I love about this vehicle is the mileage. I know that on average diesel is more expensive than gasoline but when I get 40-50 mpg I find it hard to care. Another thing that I like about this vehicle in particular is their new touchscreen stereo with USB interface. I have an external hard drive attached to it with thousands of songs and hours and hours of audiobooks. I am never at a loss for something to listen to on long road trips. Plus the touchscreen interface is great, very intuitive.
Cons
There are only a few things that I dislike about my Volkswagen Golf one being the way that the seats fold down. One of my previous VWs was an older model Golf and in that car the back seats folded differently. The bottom of the seat would fold forward allowing the back to fold down and rest much flatter. Also the front passenger seat does not fold down. I had a VW Tiguan before this and its passenger seat folded forward. It allows me to sit in the back and stretch my legs out.
