2010 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 - Great truck for certain needs
I enjoy the Dodge Ram 2500 pickup as it is a full size truck that has serious towing power. I can fit my family in the extended cab to go to Church on Sunday, and load the bed with soil and manure come Monday morning on the farm. I have 65,000 miles on it and have never has a serious issue with this truck. The quality of this truck is top-notch. It comes fully loaded with a leather-like interior, CD/Aux player, AWD, power locks/windows and extended cab seating for 5.

In 2012 I put some old, bald tires on the rear end of the truck and took it to a local "burn out" competition. I peeled out on the back end and had such a cloud of smoke the crowd got lost in it. A small fire broke out on one of the tires and I ended up winning second place. That's the first and last time I ever took place in a competition like that!

2010 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 - Amazing and comfortable.
This is the first diesel truck I have owned. Aside from the fact that diesel fuel is expensive right now, I still would buy it again. Knowing this truck will last us decades, hopefully, is enough for me to want to buy it again. I like how smooth it rides for a truck. We have put over-sized tires on ours, and it is still smooth. We had a Ram 1500 previously to the 2500, and it was very rough driving. I love the Laramie edition. There are many added features that I have come to love and do not want to be without now, such as, heated seats, sunroof and heated steering wheel. One of my favorite features is the leather seats. However, during the summer, they get quite hot. We have three kid, and having leather seats makes for quick and easy clean ups. I do not like that leather s... (more)

However, during the summer, they get quite hot. We have three kid, and having leather seats makes for quick and easy clean ups. I do not like that leather seats tend to not last as long as cloth seats, and it is expensive to replace or repair tears in the seats. I also feel very safe in our truck. It is large and is one of the top body frames for safety, which is very important to us with children in the truck. Overall, I love our truck and will never own a car again. Safety is my number one must have when determining what I want in a vehicle.
We went to help a friend who was stuck back in the woods. When we finally found him, we got into position to help pull him out. However, the way he had his truck, we weren't able to get him out because his back tires were off the ground and had no traction. Well, when we went to leave we ended up getting stuck ourselves because we don't have the proper tires for mud. We weren't far from our... (more)

We weren't far from our house, but it was comical because we went to help someone get unstuck and ended up getting stuck ourselves.
I believe on my top favorites for this truck is the Laramie edition features. The sunroof is amazing. It is extremely hard to find a truck with a sunroof on it. The heated seats have come in very handy during the cold days. I live in the south, but it does get cold here, and I use the heated seats every time I ride in the truck. The steering wheel also heats up, and that is useful until it gets too hot. I also like how spacious the cab is. We have three children and currently two are still in car seats. We live on the east coast, and it was not easy to find! We had to travel eight hours away to find our truck, but it was worth it. Aside from the fact that it is fun to drive, it is easier to control gas consumption. There have been a few times where we had to tow someone, and the power of the truck has definitely been beneficial for that. Once again, I feel extremely safe in this truck. It is large and solid. We own two Dodge vehicles because we love how well made they are. The body frames are very solid and well built.
I have not found many negative things about the Ram 2500 yet, but one of them are how terrible it is on gas mileage. It has a large fuel tank, but it takes $80+ to fill up and does not last long. I like that diesel trucks are supposed to last much longer than V6 or V8 vehicles, but diesel prices break the bank. I also do not like that there are two batteries, only because it is very expensive to change if one goes bad. Trying to find mechanics that are knowledgeable in diesel engines is not easy. I also do not like that there are two batteries, only because it is very expensive to change if one goes bad. Trying to find mechanics that are knowledgeable in diesel engines is not easy. We have had to learn quite a bit about the diesel engine because you cannot trust regular mechanic shops that mainly focus on gas vehicles. Another thing I am not a fan of is having to let the truck warm up for more than 15 minutes. I have been told conflicting stories about how long you are supposed to let one warm up, so it is hard to know what is right. It depends on where you live, but either way, it takes a while to warm up. If you don't, you are running the risk of reducing the longevity of the truck's life. There have been many times when I have forgotten to start it in advance, and I don't have time to wait. I have been told if you let it warm up for 10 minutes and drive it slowly to let it warm up, that is okay. It is a huge inconvenience though.
