Love My Sport!
This vehicle has been one of my all time favorite vehicles I've owned. It is a midsize SUV, has plenty of room for hauling around what you need while still getting great MPG (usually 25mpg). While many SUVs feel top heavy and unstable during travel, the Ford Explorer Sport is tight and easy to drive. It has a comfortable interior, great get up and go when you need it (6 cylinder) and is always one of the best looking vehicles in the lot! The A/C keeps the vehicle cool all the way to the back and the rear seats lay flat to give even more options for hauling etc.

Good, Low Mileage Vehicle
I purchased this vehicle used from my regular mechanic, so I knew it was a solid buy. It had a new, replacement transmission, which was a problem for this model year. For a ten year old vehicle, it was very clean with no rust and only minor plastic fading. Since it was pre-owned, it did have some stickers that were not removed. It also had very low miles for it's age, under 80,000 miles. It is roomy, with a third row seat you can fold down for extra storage. It also has the NSX sport package with running boards, 18" alloy wheels, a roof rack, extra trim and a premium sound system. It has a 4'3 liter V6 engine and automatic 4 wheel drive. It came with new tires, suited for on or off road use. They are a little noisy, but no more than a normal truck. It also has some interior noise, to be expected for an SUV. Although other reviews report engine problems, I have had none to date. Many of the parts the mechanic replaced before sale have a lifetime warranty, such as the brakes. Even though it is over 10 years old, when detailed, it still looks good. I get compliments on it often. Even though I came from a long line of GM purchases, I can't complain about it at all. It is not very fuel efficient, as could be expected for a mid-sized SUV. The pluses outweigh the drawback by a wide margin, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid used vehicle in this class.

Respectful Anticipation
The vehicle was purchased from a family friend for $1000. It has endured extensive use as the odometer exceeded 200,000 miles upon purchase. I've been told that Fords are notorious for rusting and my vehicle confirms such a reputation. The lower end of the vehicle's body has suffered much oxidation to such a level where some portions of the car body have crumbled off. However, these worries are merely aesthetic as the vehicle still runs very well after a beating; Reliability at it's best.
It is spacious enough for my needs when considering passenger space and cargo in the rear. The gas mileage is very poor in the city, where I primarily drive it, and slightly better on highway. The rear wheel drive concerns me each winter season because of snowfall, but the vehicle's height from the ground may render such a worry inert. That being said, the lack of rear weight of the vehicle also poses another worry for the winter season, but counterweights may be employed to resolve the issue.
The vehicle's appearance is satisfying: it looks small, yet rugged. I prefer vehicles masculine in design and this one fulfills such a desire. The interior is minimalist and utilitarian in design, which I find appealing. It has two compartments between the driver and front passenger seat for drinks, which are greatly appreciated and used. Another benefit to the rugged and minimalist aesthetics of the vehicle is that the interior hides dirt fairly well as I work in the recycling industry and enter the vehicle covered in filth. Did I mention it has hitch capability through an attachment on the rear?
