The Ford Five Hundred is a great family car. The cabin is roomy and the leather seats make it easy to clean. It has the feel of a big car, but drives like a midsize sedan. There is an abundance of storage space and two plugins for cell phones. The backseat has its own air conditioner vent and the front seat has controls on both the passenger and driver side for ultimate comfort. The radio/cd player holds 6 cd's and it has a great factory installed speaker system. Some of the problems I have seen with this car is that the side mirrors tend to cause blind spots if you are short. The doors are also pretty heavy if you have little ones.

The car is fairly large, which makes parking sometimes difficult. The gas mileage is about average - I would have preferred a car with better than average gas mileage, and would have happily sacrificed size for improved fuel usage. It performs well for my basic needs, which is to travel to and from some cities on occasion and drive around the city. I haven't had any particular performance issues outside of a recent problem with the fuel pump, which some reviews indicate is a common problem with this car.

I purchased the vehicle at 80k miles. I'm currently around 155k. The car is mostly dependable. It has poor battery longevity as I've replaced it twice. The wheels are okay; I've had them replaced (Goodyear) four times. I've owned the car for at least six years. I made the purchase to buy it from a relative second hand. The seats are fairly ergonomic. The air unit does not hold up well. I run synthetic and have never had an issue with the oil. Mileage is fair, usually around 25 mpg on highway. The car is okay at best. I've never run a flat. I've never been stranded. I just don't really love the car.
