Sentimental yet not trustworthy
I owned a Ford Windstar made in 1998. I owned secondhand from my family. Even before I had received it, it had already been in the shop a lot, but my usage was much more sparse. On the day to day basis, the van performed relatively well. It had nice traction, allowed for quick reaction times, interior held together well, and only creaked in either extreme heat or cold.

Great vehicle of the past.
Although now the vehicle is a bit aged, it had been, in its day, a great vehicle. It was hugely reliable and roomy and the best in the Ford brand. I had many great trips in this vehicle, and it made me love minivans for the rest of my life I believe. The vehicle allowed me to travel with my kids and parents with grandchildren all packed in one vehicle. We were able to travel to Disney World and back and fit all kinds of necessary items when travelling with children.

Windstars will drain your wallet
I have owned this vehicle for quite a number of years. I am always having difficulties with it. I have spent more on repairing this thing than I actually spent on it. The brakes constantly have issues. It stalls and the engine makes terrible noises. The air conditioning and heat have stopped working. Overall, I am disappointed with the quality of the vehicle. Sure, it has lasted me awhile. But that's because I have spent quite an amount of money fixing it to keep it on the road. If you are looking into purchasing a minivan, I'd steer clear of the Ford Windstar. Not worth the trouble!
