A reliable van.
This car has proven to be very reliable as stated by the title of this review. In the 4 years that we've had this car, we have only run into minor problems with it. I won't say it's my first choice of vehicle but for the price that we got it for, it has served us well. The car is fairly spacious and can seat 7 people. The back seats can be removed if desired which makes this car very handy for moving around large items. With the seats removed, there is enough space for two people to sleep in the back which is handy for trips and camping. The electronics are sort of old and a bit glitchy but it could just be because the car is quite old. It doesn't have a cd player and the cassette player does not function anymore. The miles it gets to the gallon are okay. It doesn't waste an awful load of gas but it's not as fuel efficient as other newer cars. This car tends to eat up a bit of engine oil. I don't know if its something with our specific engine that does this or it's a known problem for this make of vehicle.

Great Despite its Bad Reputation
I purchased this 2002 Ford Windstar with 75,000 miles on it. It had all the recalls taken care of and was in pristine condition. I have owned the vehicle now for a little over 2 years and have put roughly 50,000 miles on it. Nothing major mechanical or electrical has gone wrong with it. It accomplishes the same MPG as it did 50,000 miles ago and has only required regular maintenance and new shocks/struts. I owned this vehicle for my last 2 years of college and it came in handy more than I ever thought it would. It helped me move twice, and has helped 2 of my friends move. It was also great for loading up 6 of my friends so that we could all cruise to a sports game, the beach, or a concert in one vehicle thus cutting down on fuel costs for all of us. The seats were very comfortable for a 2002 vehicle and it road like a dream. The only negative aspect that I have experienced is that the windshield and rear window are so large and shaped odd which means the wipers don't completely get all the water off of them.
