Overall, this car was a really nice one. I got it as my college car, so I could commute between my college town and home. It's definitely not the fastest car out there, and it doesn't accelerate as quickly on the on ramps as some of the cars behind me, but overall I really enjoyed my Rio. It was very fuel efficient so I didn't have to worry about going out of my way to pick up a friend or go to the mall farther away. The insurance for it isn't very expensive. I bought my car used, but in the 4 years that I owned it never broke down or had any problems aside from a tire that got punctured and slowly started deflating.
Story
I took this baby for a road trip of 9 states in 8 days with four of my friends the summer after high school. I think we traveled around 4,000 miles total. And my Rio totally was able to navigate all the roads and was great after, too. Definitely the most memorable memory in that car and probably that year in general.
Pros
One of the biggest positives is that this car is good value for the money. It's fuel efficient. It's also reliable. I really like the eco button that would light up and stay lit as long as I wasn't accelerating too fast. It was also comfortable and while not having 4WD could still travel fairly well in icy and snowy weather. It's more compact so it was easy to parallel park it in my college town that doesn't have many parking spaces around campus.
Cons
It doesn't have a very strong engine so it's a bit slow to accelerate. The car is lighter so it will still sometimes lose traction in very icy conditions. More so than a 4wd would.

I got this car when I first started my actual career. Obviously, it is economical in price and gas mileage. I purchased it in 2010 with 20k miles on it for about twelve grand. I paid it off in 3 years and it is a good thing. The car's main purpose has always been fine - no engine problems, no huge issues. However I find myself having to give money for weird little things every few months. The tire pressure monitoring system tells me that my tires are low every other month, the horn has gone out, and the A/C is funny. I have to get new tires about once a year, but that is probably more my fault than the car. The interior size is decent. I have no children but I do have three nieces and nephews all under the age of four and can fit all three of them in the back seat pretty comfortably wi... (more)
Story
My husband and I drove from Florida to Texas in the Kia, and it did great with fuel economy and such.
Pros
It has good fuel economy and the interior is surprisingly big. Also I have never had any major issues with it.
Cons
All of the little problems that come up, like the horn going out and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System being incredibly sensitive.
