2014 Kia Rio OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS
Owasso, Oklahoma
Rio is one of the better subcompact cars, but it's still basic transportation. It is a loud car, with a stiff ride and leisurely acceleration from its 1.6-liter engine. We got 33 mpg overall in our tests. That's good, but many more substantial compact car
Kia Rio is combines upscale characteristics with an affordable asking price and is available as either a sedan or a hatchback. The pint-sized Kia's fuel-efficient engine is accompanied by amicable driving manners, but the Rio is by no means speedy or engaging to drive. Its handsome interior is equally comfortable except for those stuck in the small back seat for long periods of time. While every model has a user-friendly infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, even the fanciest versions lack common driver-assistance technology.

Unenjoyable and cheap
I got this vehicle while I was on a budget, and I certainly got what I paid for. The interior felt a bit better than the car performed, but it was so notably slow that when I was getting on the highway driving home from the dealership I had to struggle just to get to 60 mph. The car had an "eco" mode, but with or without it, it struggled to get 27 mpg in my mostly-highway commute. The system for changing the audio was absolutely abhorrent, and I'm a music fanatic so that's kind of a major feature for me, and I'd often have to struggle to sort through folders to find the tune I wanted. At one point, a cab driver crashed into me (entirely his fault), and the car did not handle the damage well, which lead me to believe that if the accident were more serious, I may not have fared so nicely. I figured it didn't matter, since it was the car that was meant to get me to the job that'd get me a nicer car. The real kicker is that, once I returned the car, I hopped into a far-nicer car (a Honda Civic) at a lower monthly price with less down payment. Either the dealership fleeced me, or the sticker price on that car was too high. It was not a pleasant vehicle to drive for the three years I had it.

Kia Rio 2014
I am super satisfied with our Kia Rio! it gets great gas mileage, still has the manufacturers warranty and is super reliable. The only troubling recurrent issue we have with the car is that we have a weird engine problem. When we press the gas pedal, sometimes the car does not accelerate, which can sometimes put us into dangerous situations, especially when it comes to getting on the freeway. However, the only other downsides are that we feel the car sits a little too low to the ground. My husband can't have the sun visors down, otherwise he can't see out the windows,. We would like more leg room in the back seats and trunk space. Other than that, we really are satisfied with our car!
