The KIA RIO is a good value car. It gets amazing gas mileage around town and on the highway and from my year of experience driving it, reliable. For a smaller car the front is very spacious and has a good consul and cup holders. The back is supposed so sit 3 people but there is not a lot of leg room for adult especially with longer legs. On the flip side the trunk is very spacious but I think for my needs I would have preferred a bigger back seat. The plastic trim on the car is cheap and has not held up well. The only other thing is that I bought this car mainly because it has an manual transmission. I know I bought it because it is a bit slower and would keep me out of trouble but I must shift in to second gear before I hit 5 mph and if I am going 30 mph I'm already in fifth gear, it ... (more)
Story
I had been doomed to drive an automatic car for awhile until about a year ago when I got my 6 speed KIA RIO. I live further out on the edge of town and my drive is a straight shot to a small gravel road so there is not a lot of traffic. The second night I had my new car I got home late from work. It was dark, I was tiered and distracted, and had stopped by the grocery store so I had a few bags... (more)
Pros
Great gas mileage, spacious trunk, reliable, good consul
Cons
Slow, small back seat, cheap exterior

This car is cheap. I admit that I bought a basic version, so I understand that I don't have all the bells and whistles. The road noise is loud, the tires are too narrow, and there is no acceleration in this vehicle. The interior is very cheap. I haven't had any trouble with any of the cars electronic components. The performance of the car has been so-so. I actually had my breaks stop working one day, but it was only once. I do like that the trunk is big, and the car is surprisingly roomier than you would think. The fuel economy is a plus. I get fairly good mileage on this car. It has been dependable (with the exception of the one time the breaks went completely out for a minute). I like the lights on the car. They are nice and bright. I wish the Rio had a better radio, and... (more)
Story
This is my first brand new vehicle, so that was a fun day for me. I had an old clunker, and I hated to be seen driving the thing around, and driving the Rio has been a luxury compared to that.
Pros
Much more room than it looks like it has. Fairly good gas mileage. I like the color.
Cons
My breaks failed. Road noise. No acceleration. Could get better gas mileage than it does.
