2017 Nissan LEAF - Best car I've ever owned to this point
The quality is good especially for a Nissan. We haven't had a single problem with it yet.
Story
When we take it to go hiking up in Golden Gate Canyon Park or near Idaho Springs, we have to use a decent amount of battery to get up the mountain. The best part is coming down though because the brake assist kicks in and we get most of our battery back by the time we get home.
Pros
We got a great deal on it because of all the tax incentives being offered on electric vehicles. We got $10,000 from our electric company, $5,000 from the state of CO and $7,500 from the federal government. This turned at $34,000 car into a $12,000 car. We spend almost no money on gas now and our brake assist feature helps preserve the brake pads to a much greater extent than on a traditional gas-powered vehicle.
Cons
The range is limited to about 115 miles, and the battery dies a lot faster in the cold. We knew all this going in though so the car is being used appropriately as a commuter vehicle.
