2012 Volkswagen Jetta - Volkswagen Jetta Review
Overall my vehicle is quite nice to drive. It handles well, has good acceleration, handles turns well, and is quite comfortable. However, it doesn't handle snow or icy conditions well at all. I have also had multiple electrical and maintenance issues with it. I brought it to a VW dealer to address a check engine light that had come on. When I asked how much it would be to simply hook up the machine that checks the compute they told me it would be $150, so I brought it over to a Strauss Auto Center and they did it for free. The part turned out to be warrantied, however VW was still difficult to get a hold of and to find someone to change the part and insure it was safe to drive. After finally getting the part installed one of my circuits blew. I replaced it myself with the help of a mec... (more)

The part turned out to be warrantied, however VW was still difficult to get a hold of and to find someone to change the part and insure it was safe to drive. After finally getting the part installed one of my circuits blew. I replaced it myself with the help of a mechanic since it was cheaper, then the dashboard light indicating a light is out came on. This light flickers on and off since there is now a short in the computer from a fuse blowing. This car has cost me more in maintenance than any other car I have ever dealt with and is the newest. VW also makes it very difficult and expensive to maintain this car. I would never recommend a VW again.
One spring, right as we were coming out of winter, there was a surprise snow storm. My county was unprepared so they didn't salt or have any trucks out. My normally 20 minute commute turned into an almost 2 hour commute due to road closures, myself and others sliding out, and living in a hilly area and trying to find a way to get home! My normally 20 minute commute turned into an almost 2 hour commute due to road closures, myself and others sliding out, and living in a hilly area and trying to find a way to get home! I ended up sliding straight across a street and just couldn't handle driving any longer. Stressed and tired I called my boyfriend and roommate to come get me. They walked the mile (yes only one mile to go) and got my. My boyfriend got behind the wheel and started driving. It was like something out of a movie, cars were sliding everywhere in front of us, people were slipping, and somehow we made it home safe and sound. I makes a good story now.
Drives well and is very comfortable

2012 Volkswagen Jetta - Great Gas Mileage
My husband and I purchased the VW Jetta when he took a job that required him to drive 200+ miles a day. We looked at several good gas mileage cars, and decided to go with the diesel Jetta. It has lived up to it's gas mileage claims of 43+ mpg, and is a pleasure to drive. It has smart technology with a large screen electronic display in the middle of the dash which controls your phone, radio, Bluetooth music, GPS, and SD card music. It has a sunroof which I wasn't sure if I would use since I live in Arizona, but it is a great way to give your dogs some air while not worrying that they are going to jump out the window. It has a pass through from the back seat to the trunk which is really nice for extra long items. The upholstery is quality constructed since it has held up while being exp... (more)

It has a pass through from the back seat to the trunk which is really nice for extra long items. The upholstery is quality constructed since it has held up while being exposed to my rambunctious little dogs. The seats are very comfortable and heated. It has an incredible amount of trunk space and legroom for a small car. The car messages you when your tires are low on air which is really handy in a hot climate. I've driven in 48,000 miles and have only had to change a battery. I really can't say enough good things about this car.
I often take my small dogs to visit my Mom at her nursing home. Since one of the dogs is handicapped, he rides around in a stroller which I stow in the trunk. I was unloading the stroller and forgot that the pass through was open, and my dog ran from the backseat through the trunk and jumped out into his stroller.

Great gas mileage, well-built, quality interior, large interactive radio/gps/phone display.

Could use a wider rear view mirror to make the blind spot smaller. Would love to have automatic headlights.
