An expensive lemon
My Beetle started out with some minor issues, that later turned into major problems. While I enjoyed the comfortable ride and surprising spaciousness of the car, and it did drive well on trips, the mechanical issues that progressed were expensive and time consumptive. The last year I owned this car, it spent 7 of 12 months in the shop. Talk about an inconvenience! In the end, I was willing to trade a nice driving, fun car for something reliable that wouldn't cost me a fortune to keep up.

Too many things break and they're too expensive to fix
I like that its cute, its little but not too little, & I'm comfortable driving it after having driven it for over 5 years. I dislike that things like the headlights and brake lights go out once every few months, and replacing one headlight costs at least $60. Little things fall apart easily and are outrageously expensive to fix. It was only a few years old when I bought it and had one previous owner, but I've had way too many big problems with it in only 6 years despite taking good care of it. It accelerates kind of slowly.

null
I bought my Beetle last year. It had a brand new water heater and the promise of a reliable car. It gets me to and from school, so it works. It has the coldest A/C and a nice radio. I love the drive and the power that tiny motor pushed out. It drives like a tank. I was involved in two hit and run accidents where my back bummer was hit at moderate speeds, and it took it like a champ. Drives like a breeze and doesn't have many issues for a 12-year-old car with 100K + miles.
