2010 Volvo S40 - I love my Volvo

Overall, I have been very satisfied with my Volvo s40. It is an extremely reliable car. I have put very little money into it other than regular maintenance. I bought the car used and put 20,000 miles on it in the first year with absolutely no problems other than normal wear and tear. I feel very safe and comfortable driving it. I think the outside build is timeless. It still looks great, newer than it actually is. As far as fuel economy goes, it definitely is not the best out there. It is fine for me, as that is not my top concern, but it could be better. The fuel economy also did deteriorate as the car aged a bit, but not too drastically.
Story
The most fun I had in my vehicle was taking a road trip from Pennsylvania to Atlanta. It was a long trip of course, but I love road trips in my car. It feels nice to take a trip in a car that you know is reliable.
Pros
My favorite feature is the bluetooth feature, which I use for talking on the phone as well as for GPS. However, the main positives are the safety and reliability of the car.
Cons
The negative thing is that it is a foreign car, so common repairs can often be more expensive than they may be for domestic cars.

2010 Volvo S40 - Safe, Reliable, Low Handling, Low Visibility

This Volvo's primary feature is safety and reliability. It's quite heavy and roomy, but it drives like a tank. It's hard to see out of the side windows and the blind spots are larger than in other cars. In fact, the low visibility of this car is one of the reasons I really dislike it. The rearview mirror is very small and I've almost run over pedestrians because the frame between the windshield and the driver side window is so fat and obtrusive. The carriage is low and is also much heavier than the subcompact cars that I used to drive and, as such, the handling is terrible. It's difficult making turns, seeing people, and other cars. The seats are comfortable, but not heated. The front seats are much roomier than the backseats. Even for children, it's cramped in the back. I've... (more)
Story
No fun stories. This is not a fun car and it's not fun to drive.
Pros
The best things about this car is its sturdy frame and weight that will protect you and all other passengers in this car from accidents. The gas mileage is above average. It defogs quickly and the air circulation is good.
Cons
The worst things about this car are the mechanical problems that seem to come up often. The blind spots are huge and the rearview mirror is really small. Its weight makes handling difficult. It needs to be fully maintained always. If the brake pads wear thin, going up and down hills is noticeably more dangerous. It's harder to spot the vehicle and keep it from rolling. You will feel safe inside only because it's obviously that the car will cause more damage to whatever is outside than inside.
