This dealership was conveniently located down the street from me. It was supernatural clean and the atmosphere was very inviting. I had salespeople who were willing to help, but were never pushy. They worked with me for a long time on exactly what I wanted. The salesmen had a great sense of humor and took me seriously even though I was a young female making the purchase on my own. I came in prepared and told them right off the bat that I didn't intend to pay much more over the invoice price. I had my research done and they accepted that. Overall, it was a great experience.

I hate buying new cars usually, but the people at Elhurst were respectful, helpful and most of all patient with me. The facilities are very good and clean, and I was very comfortable during the whole process. The sales people were very helpful and not in any way pushy, which has been my experience previously. Service was quick, and I didn't feel ignored or pushed around. It was easy to go online and check prices, and come in to drive the very same cars I was looking at. Overall, this was just a very easy process that couldn't have been better.

I bought a used car here that I had found online. Everything was up to par and the process was easy since i went in knowing what I wanted. The car was great and the paperwork side of everything went really easily. The dealership is nice and clean if not a little old. The service area is large and I was given a couple free oil changes as well.

The building here is really nice. Everything is up-to-date and very high quality. The lot has a lot of cars and compared to its counterpart in Chicago, it makes it a lot easier to browse. The car wash is very nice and efficient as well. I was in and out of there in no time. The service advisors are also very knowledgeable.

They met the exact price I wanted on the car. All the employees were friendly and helpful. Despite the busy nature of the dealership that day, I felt that I was given a lot of time by the salesman. They showed me all the features of the cars. The dealership made it a relatively painless experience to purchase a car.

No matter how much you modernize a car dealership, car salesmen still play silly car sales games. Came in to source a CPO RDX for my mom. Found one on Saturday, came back in Wednesday. I let the sales guy know that I understand the process as well as he does, that I was going to buy, and not to screw around.

You should take the time to learn the grid system. Once learning the gird system, note that there are diagonal roads through the grid and sometimes they do weird things--particularly in the loop. Know that the loop is always insane as is the stretch of North Ave right by the Damen blue line stop (it ... (more)

I haven't bought a car in this city, but I can say this from prior experience: shop around the used dealerships only because some people on Craigslist are going to screw you over. It's not as big of an issue for apartment, job, and random stuff hunting, but I have heard horror stores about cars. Now ... (more)

Anytime I get to drive in the city--I have a Zipcar account for a reason--I simply enjoy not having to take all my groceries from the store home via CTA. It can be a huge pain. Particularly when I lived in Edgewater at Ridge and Ardmore. To get to stores with good sales, it would literally be like a ... (more)

Around Boystown - Boystown is a neighborhood not a road, so technically I have like three favorites in that neighborhood: Belmont, Clark, and Halsted. The traffic is always awful in the city, and Boystown provides me with wonderful things/people to look at or be like HEY! I've never been there. Mental note, check tha ... (more)

Some advice that I would give to other drivers driving around in this city of Chicago would be to watch all around you. Also, to take your time driving and do not let anyone rush you to get to your destination. If they are that impatient and are the passenger tell them they can walk, and if they ar ... (more)

Do not go through craigslist. People are so sketchy nowadays so I do not recommend going that route to get you a car. I would recommend a legit car dealership. Going to some random person on a random website is really dangerous and it is not a good idea. I do not know of a particular location becau ... (more)

MY favorite memory from driving in the city of Chicago is how there is always a detour to take if a street seems to blocked. What I mean, is that like when I first started working I would always seem to almost get into a fender bender with another car or a pole. I was a new driver at the time but my ... (more)

If you live in the downtown area and work in the downtown area, get rid of your car and take public transportation. If you are purchasing a used car for under $10,000, stay away from any car dealers and deal direct to the person selling it by using Craigslist. Beware of dealers posing on craigslist as normal people. It is easy to spot by reverse lookup of the phone number and obtaining the address. Its also easy ... (more)

My friend had a condo downtown on the Gold Coast and he invited me and a friend down for a poker game. It was a Friday night and there was absolutely no parking spaces anywhere on the street.
