2011 Dodge Avenger - Frustrating
My car is a 2011 Dodge Avenger Main Street, or base model. Black on Black with 18 inch chrome wheels and 4 cylinder engine. On my initial test drive the car felt pretty good considering it was a 4 cylinder. My previous car was a 6 cylinder so the performance or lack of, was noticeable right away, but decent. I liked the fact that it was a sedan, as I was coming out of a coupe in my previous ownership. I disliked the fact it lack a sunroof or remote start features. However, it was the base model so I cannot complain. Interior quality is moderate. Plastics ranged from soft - hard depending on whether it is in an area that is touched frequently.

My car is quite popular in my immediate area. My kids always point out a car that looks like mines while out and about. However, I've never seen the same color and wheel combination as mines, so it is somewhat unique.

Thick rimmed steering wheel - great comfort.
Steering wheel controls - great for commuters
Roomy interior
Adequate trunk space
Good creature features for a base model
No fake or unauthentic steering feel

Electrical issues (at least my car)
Seats can become stiffening on long trips
4 cylinder did not return great mpg
Sluggish, can feel the weight of the car
Battery is accessed below driver-side front wheel well. (Horrible location for battery changes. Battery change itself requires the removal of a panel inside the wheel well and removal of tire.)

2011 Dodge Avenger - Reliable
I bought my Dodge Avenger in 2013 when it had just over 40k miles on it. Since then I have added almost 60k miles. I have had absolutely no issues other than getting regular oil changes and replacing the tires. I don't think you can ask for better luck with a car over the course of six years. I like the sleekness of the car. The black paint looks really good on it. It's certainly not the nicest looking sedan, but I feel comfortable and respected in this car. The interior is not too fancy, but it gets the job done. The touchscreen on the radio is pretty good for a 2011 model and looks much better than the standard radio with knobs. I also appreciate the large trunk space, there is a lot of room for a sedan. The cars electrical system is also helpful it lets me know the tire pressure, wh... (more)

The cars electrical system is also helpful it lets me know the tire pressure, when an oil change is good, average miles per gallon, and miles left until empty which is super helpful over the course of a week. I do wish my car had some of the features that newer models have including: heated seats, Bluetooth, and back-up camera, but for the price I paid and the lack of issues I have I'm happy.
I went to get my battery tested at AutoZone and I opened the hood and we couldn't find the battery. Apparently in this car it's in front of the wheel. I was so embarrassed.

The first positive is reliability. Outside of regular oil changes I haven't had a single major issue with the car. I got spark plugs replaced and replaced tires, but other than that no issues. I always remember things going wrong with all the cars my parents owned, but knock on wood, I haven't had any expensive issues, and I think that speaks very highly of how well this car was put together. Although some of the tech in the vehicle is limited, I find the system information useful. Although some of the tech in the vehicle is limited, I find the system information useful. The car lets me know tire pressure, miles to empty, mile per gallon, and alerts me when there are issues with the car and what the issue is (i.e.. tire pressure low). The radio and features on the car are also a positive. The touchscreen is sleek looking and better than your standard radio dial. It has XM radio support and an aux plug in. What more can you ask for in terms of music? The backseat is large enough to meet three people and allows me to pack a lot when I do need to travel or move. The amount of space in the trunk is also much more than expected and very roomy. I also enjoy how sleek the car looks from the outside, it's a good looking car, especially when compared to a Honda Civic or another sedan.
My main complaint about the car is fuel economy. Although it's not the worst fuel economy I've ever had, I expect more out of a sedan. It gets about 23 miles per gallon when driving in city, much more for highway miles, but with my commute to work, I want more out of my sedan. I mentioned some of the system features as positives above, but they can also be negative. The system alerts and tech is not as advanced as some car models obviously in newer years, but also likely cars that came out in the same year as mine. The tech is pretty limited. I don't have Bluetooth for music or a plug in to charge my phone, which is probably the most frustrating. The car's turning radius is also not great. I feel like my wheels are going to fall off when I make a tight turn whereas with newer cars I have driven it seems like they can turn on a dime.
