This car was a perfect backup/second car for my family. It has good standard features, decent power and the fit and finish has been good. I have used it as my daily driver for about a year now and have been satisfied. Maintenance so far has been minimal but those issues that have come up have been taken care of under warranty. T
Story
When I first got the car I was in the parking lot at the supermarket. When I came out of the store I found a woman staring at my car and pulling on the door handle. Concerned, I came over. The woman indicated that her car wouldn't open up. When I tried with my remote it opened just fine (it was my car after all). It turns out she had just bought the same car, same color same options and had pa... (more)

I have owned this car for a little more than a year. Originally, I planned to purchase a bike. My wife and I decided that since our daughter would be of driving age shortly after the bike was paid off, it would be better to get a car that she could drive instead. We both have always been a fan of Dodge and the Avenger has not disappointed, nor let down the brand. The car comes equipped with TCS making it more stable on slippery road conditions. It gets >25 mpg in the city. We took a long trip with the car this summer and it averaged over 33mpg despite it only having a 4 speed transmission. The radio it came with is extremely dated for how new the vehicle is. The only way to connect your phone is by an auxiliary input cable. The steering wheel sits a little lower than I'd lik... (more)
Story
I drove this down some of the "roads" that are near my in-laws house. (I use roads very loosely as they are not much more than two tracks.) It was my wife and I. We stopped at Big Creek in Oscoda county Michigan. We had a family of wild swans come right up to us. This vehicle got us to the location providing a smooth ride over the entire bumpy dirt trail we had to take to get there.
Pros
1. Gas mileage. In this day and age with gas prices being higher, having good fuel efficiency is important. 2. Ride quality. After driving this car from Puyallup, WA to West Branch, MI, I can say that the Dodge Avenger is both comfortable to sit in and it is easy to keep it on the road over even bumpy and uneven road surfaces. 3. Physical appearance. I love the design. I have always appreciated the appearance of Dodge vehicles.
Cons
1. Throttle issues. I have had an issue with the throttle position sensor. It is intermittent and the dealership said they could not find the issue. I will be keeping my eye on this. 2. Transmission. The 2014 Avenger still used a 4 speed transmission. 3. The radio. The radio is dated. It appears to be identical, or at least nearly identical, to the radio I have in my 2007 Dodge Ram.
