My Dodge Ram 1500 is the best pickup truck I've ever owned. The King cab is roomy. The bed is six feet long and can haul just about anything. The detail in the cab is meticulous. It has a great stereo system. Four adults can ride comfortably. It can take on any kind of weather or road conditions. I live in the country, so the four-wheel-drive is a necessity. My Ram has taken on every kind of dirt road out there and always pulls me through. My son always wants to drive my truck because he thinks it's cool. The gas mileage is way higher than I expected. Even in town, I get over 17 miles per gallon. On the highway, I average about 20 miles per gallon. The height of the vehicle gives me a great view of surrounding traffic and conditions. I've had smaller trucks and trucks of this size but ... (more)
Story
I live on a dirt road that is minimally maintained. When we had a lot of snow, I took my Dodge Ram out to see how she would do. In four-wheel-drive high, it took on drifts that were over a foot tall. We drift-busted our entire road just because we could.
Pros
There are so many pros to owning a Dodge Ram 1500. Mine is equipped with a 5.7 Liter, 8 cylinder Hemi and runs like a champ. This truck is a match for any terrain. The cab itself is spacious and somewhat luxurious for a truck. The seats are comfortable and wear well. It drives so well. The technology included is also a bonus. I can see my average economy, my direction, and range of fuel. Having that information at my fingertips allows me to adjust my driving accordingly to maximize fuel mileage and comfort. The factory stereo is awesome. I listen to many different kinds of music, and they ... (more)
Cons
There are not many negatives with a Dodge Ram 1500. I am short, so the height of the vehicle makes entering the cab a bit of a challenge. Hand holds are available to assist in entry, but it can be a bit of a hassle if you are entering and exiting the truck frequently. The passenger seat has very limited adjustments available, making it somewhat difficult to see all of your surroundings. I wish the passenger side was a little more user-friendly. It can be difficult to adjust the radio or temperature from the right seat. The climate control panel is not lighted, which makes adjusting the tem... (more)

The main thing I like about my Dodge RAM 1500 is the reliability. It is an excellent truck and always works as needed. Since I have owned it for over 4 years I have never had any major mechanical work performed on it. It is also reasonably easy to perform maintenance on at home. I can do an oil change in 15 minutes and none of the spark plugs are buried like in a lot of newer vehicles.
Story
The first time I got a flat in this vehicle I didn't read the owners manual and spent a good half hour trying to get the spare tire off. Eventually a friend and myself broke the mechanism that holds the spare tire. I have since repaired it and actually love how easy it is to raise and lower the spare. So remember to check your manual first. There is a little hole in the back bumper that connec... (more)
Pros
I like the large seating capacity the truck provides. I can haul 6 passengers if needed and have plenty of room in the back to bring along toys. The fabric of the seats is pretty durable. I have a large dog and he hasn't done any significant damage to the fabric. I really like that I can get to places that you would never take a car.
Cons
I only have a very basic model and don't like the lack of power features. If I were to buy another I would get some upgrades. Also the gas mileage is pretty bad for the model I purchased. The radio is just okay, but once again that was my choice. Replacement tires are a bit expensive for this vehicle which is another con. I also wish I would have purchased perhaps a 2500 because the towing capacity of the 1500 is a little low.
