The Dodge Ram 1500 has been a great truck for our family. It is spacious enough inside to fit our family of six, leaving tons of space in the bed for all of our items. The Hemi gives it great get up, which the husband loves! I am big on music, and the stock system that is in this truck lives up to all my expectations! It is quiet enough to take out in the woods to do some road hunting as a family, which is a big plus for us. It is not always possible to get out and hike around with four children! My husband is over six foot, and I am just over five foot. We both are able to comfortably drive and place the seat in the perfect spot, still leaving enough room for little legs in the back seat. The standard bed size is great! We recently went camping, and with six of us, including a baby, w... (more)
Story
My husband hunts and likes to take the kids. One day, he was out driving the dirt roads with the two middle kids (nine and six), and he spotted a deer, which didn't even bother running when the truck pulled up. They got out and were able to track it for a little while. He was eager to get home to tell me about how he was able to drive the truck without scaring off the animals.
Pros
Room inside. Body style. Sound system. Adjust-ability of driver seat. Hemi powered.
Cons
Gas mileage is not great. Even though it is a smaller cab, it would be nice to have rear vents for A/C and heat. On hot days, it takes a while to get the back seat cool.

2007 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 - I love this truck, from a first time truck owner.

When I first went to the dealership I was a bit reluctant to go with a pickup truck after having a sedan for so many years. I did test drive a few but none were a total package like the ram is. If you are looking for power, towing, functionality and drivability then this is the truck for you. It may take a little while to get used to the size of a truck after driving a mid sized car for many years but don't let this deter you from giving the ram 1500 a shot.
Story
This vehicle was perfect for when we went camping at the lake. We could easily fit everything we needed in the bed of the truck. It also provided enough room for the whole family to be comfortable, and the multiple power outlets are great for the kids to charge their phones on the ride.
Pros
This truck provided exceptional power when equipped with the v8 hemi option. It has amazing handling for a truck this size which reminds me more of driving a car. The extended cab models offer more than enough room for a family of 4 and could easily accommodate 6 people comfortably if needed. It also provides plenty of storage space for anything you need such as a gps or straps or anything else you can think of. 4 wheel drive, especially when living in colder climates, and the ability to haul things are always an added plus.
Cons
The only cons I could come up with was I didn't like the wood grain dash board option. It also uses more gas than I was used to but I did move from a 4 cylinder sedan to a v8 truck, so it was expected. The lack of an audio auxiliary port is also disappointing but that may just be my model.
