The Fusion hybrid gets fantastic mileage. With my short commute, I buy gas about five times a year. Ford's take on hybrid engines is also great; in a Toyota Prius the gas engine kicks on at a set speed, but with the Fusion the gas and electric engines work together from the beginning. You won't get left at a traffic light or fall back when climbing a hill, even at low speeds. It feels like a gas engine, but a lot of the time it's simply silent.

This vehicle is just too behind. In 2010 when it came out, it was a little behind the competition, but in 2017 it is so far gone. The dash and controls all look way outdated and not as user friendly as they could be. The engine is a hybrid, but the electric motor is very weak, not giving any sort of punch when the gas is stepped on. The interior rattles a lot (at 70,000 miles), including the speakers, despite them never having been played very loud. The MPG's are still not bad (~35 MPG), though behind for the new hybrids, obviously. I've had a couple issues with the car on repairs, but nothing overly expensive. The car just lacks a lot of things expected to be standard. It still has radio and technology glitches that randomly won't allow you to play the CD or aux cable you want. The car also doesn't connect with current iPhones, despite the USB slot existing and it telling you it's connected (definitely not). The Bluetooth is extremely spotty. It will work for a week then not work for two months, and don't even try to make it work while you charge you're phone in the car because that's not happening. It says that it connects to my house's Wi-Fi for updates but I guess Ford just hasn't cared to update the software to be compatible for what 80% of people use for a phone.
