Great starter car if you are on a budget. Something to get your son/daughter if this this is their first car. It was my first car, and I still own it.
Story
Commuting to college everyday 45 miles each way. Also having my two dogs in the back and taking them to dog parks all around town.
Pros
It is very affordable. I was able to save up $6,000 and paid for my car in cash. I have hardly had to pay for maintenance. It is very fuel efficient (only a 10 gallon gas tank) and gets great millage (31mpg/highway). Great starter car for teenagers who just got their drivers license. Won't break the bank! It is compact, so it's very useful for squeezing into those small parking spaces. Easy handling because of its size. This is a great car for people living in a congested city.
Cons
No A/C. The basic model does not come with A/C. Be prepared to roll down those windows. Manual Transmission. You have to be comfortable driving a stick, because the basic model comes with manual transmission. It has the old-fashioned roll down windows. Too Small. I would not advise getting if you have a family. Only a two-door vehicle with limited passenger space in the back. Very cramped in the back.

This car was actually left to sit for a couple of months when we bought it. Even then, it still gave us minimal issues even years after. The engine is very strong, and the Korean engineering is truly Impressive. The technology is outdated, of course, but what else can you expect from a 2002 car. The body shape and the color of the car itself was very unique. You can rarely find a regular car from 2002 that looks this modern. It's truly a timeless design. This was a car that was very needed, and it held up well throughout the time it was used. Trunk is spacious enough for your sports equipment and groceries!
Story
When I was busy driving, I didn't realize that the car had run out of gas, the needle was on E, and the gas light came on. All the gas stations had been closed. I still drove 10-15 miles anyways, Ridiculous performance!
Pros
Pros of the car include great mileage! Seeing as this is a 1.5 cylinder car, the gas usage on this car was great! World of difference compared to 2.0/2.5 cars. The body shape is incredible for the year. No one would think it was a 2002 car. Another pro would have to be the compact size of the car. It's incredible how its compact, yet the car is so spacious on the inside, and the roof is not tight or claustrophobic. Another pro is that the rear speakers of the car are accessible through the trunk, so you can simply open the trunk and replace the speakers with after markets! Truly incredible!
Cons
A negative thing about the vehicle is not having a good audio system. The speakers were below par and no auxiliary port just made most of the sound system unusable. The other main issue is that this car is very expensive to maintain. The parts are quite rare, and they are structured differently. So the cost to maintain this car is not cheap at all.
