I really like my 2010 Hyundai Accent. I think it is a great compact car that is also roomy enough to take both short and longer trips in. It gets excellent gas mileage both in and out of the city, it runs very well, and handles like a dream. The seats are comfortable; however, they are difficult to clean. The console is not cluttered, and all of the buttons are easy to navigate while driving. The mirrors are a good size for the car and adjust well. The trunk space for the size of the car is a large size, and the car comes with a wheel well and spare tire as well as a jack set. The back seats fold down for more cargo room, and the center console is perfect for passengers wanting a place to put drinks and snacks on the road. The stereo gets good reception, and the speakers are loud enoug... (more)
Story
One memorable story is decorating the car for my high school homecoming game against the cross-town rivals. Our colors are blue and yellow, and my car is light blue, so it made sense to put yellow confetti all over it as well as tie stuffed Canaries (our mascot) to the antenna. We also wrote messages to the opposing team on the windows using transparent window paint. It was a lot of fun gettin... (more)
Pros
Good mileage. Over 32 miles on the highway and 27 in the city. The gas tank holds 11 gallons, and I can easily drive a full week on one tank of gas going both on city and highway roads. The car has had no serious maintenance issues other than replacing tires, brakes, and oil and runs like it is brand new. The car also gets really good air conditioning, even on humid days.
Cons
The passenger side mirror can only be adjusted from the passenger side, which makes getting it at the right angle a challenge. The rearview mirror could also be slightly bigger as it is difficult to angle it to see both the back seat as well as the rear of the vehicle. The seats are not leather, which make them very hard to clean.

My blue Hyundai Accent is a 2010 model that we (my mom and I) purchased in 2011. Initially, I thought the color was not attractive. I wanted a black car, but the cheery blue eventually won me over. My car is now nicknamed, "The Tardis," off of the TV show Doctor Who. The car has run very smooth since 2011, and it is now at 100,000. I seldom take my vehicle on the highway, so I think that contributed to the maintenance of my vehicle. I really like how I have a car that is the perfect size for my 5'1" stature. I have had no problem backing in and out of parking spots because the car is compact and easy to handle. It is only in the past 2 years that I've had to replace all 4 tires and do two major automotive fixes. For example, one major fix up was replacing a sensor that was important.
Story
I have a ukulele that I constantly keep in my car because you never know. A fun memory is that I constantly take my cat for rides in my car, without a harness/seatbelt/crate, etc. and he makes a point to sit in the very back against the window. He looks like a blob, and certain fast food places around down recognize him because of it when we drive around.
Pros
The top positive thing about my vehicle is that the gas in my tank goes very far. I am so incredibly happy. As a struggling graduate student that roughly $20 of gas, unleaded, fills up my tank. This has remained true over the past 7 years of ownership, which is a blessing. The next positive thing is that I've had a lot of reliability over the years, only in the past 2 years have I had to do major things like replace all tires instead of just oil changes/routine maintenance. My seats are comfortable. I have a trunk which I enjoy, and though the car is compact, I always have enough room to a... (more)
Cons
The stereo can be a bit wonky with the static, and I do not have the smoothest surround sound, but I do not really care about that aspect. The seats are not heated, and I do not think I have Bluetooth capability. Those negative attributes are related to luxury perks, so I do not see these as necessarily negative.
