I have a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T, 5.7 L Hemi engine. Several goodies such as a sun roof, steering wheel controls, adjustable pedals, and heated seats to name a few. I had previously owned a Charger, same year and trim but it had better suspension than my current one. I have added some modifications that help with the look such as a rear spoiler and mods the improve horsepower and the sound such as custom exhaust and a cold air intake. Both Chargers were and are very reliable and I have about 127,000 miles on it and get around 15.5 MPG around town. It has a roomy interior with comfortable leather heated seats and automatic down windows. I do miss the automatic up windows the other one had, I also had to modify a knob to enable automatic headlights. It has an automatic transmission with a... (more)
Story
I recorded myself doing a massive burnout on a forest service road. I was able to work around the anti slip feature (ESP) traction control. I put down a little oil under each rear tire to aid in the smoke build up. The road was only traveled by campers and I did it during the off season to be safe. I was as safe as I could be considering what I was doing.
Pros
Good performance and horsepower, roomy interior and trunk space. I love the styling of the 2006 models. I haven't experienced any electrical problems with things like the keyless entry or automatic seats and windows. The headliner is in good shape for the age of the car as well. The Autostick comes in handy when you want to eliminate the hesitation automatic transmissions have. Very few recalls have been issued for this car which is always a good thing.
Cons
The number one thing that would possibly keep me from ever buying a new Dodge is their service department. The worst ever! I know several people with Dodge vehicles and they all feel the same way. I bought the car used and the previous owner had the day time running lights turned on via programming. I hate them on but nearby dealerships want anywhere from $135 to over $200 to have them turned off. Ridiculous. Fuel economy isn't great but then that isn't why you buy a car like this. My clear coat on the paint is peeling off in places but those are all the complaints I have. Which really isn... (more)

The car has a very appealing contour. It looks like a sports car. Actually, it looks like a undercover police car. I liked the cherry red color, the sexy look to it, and the smooth ride immediately when I test drove it. It rides very smoothly, and accelerates fast. It also very efficient when it comes to gas, 1 full tank lasts about a week. The brakes were the only thing that concerned me at first, because the car does not sop exactly where you want it to, it is as if it moves a few inches forward before it stops. In addition, the traction sensor is very sensitive, so it comes on often. Otherwise, this car is a great gift for your self or for the significant other, but I would not recommend buying it for a teen or inexperienced driver. It takes some getting used to when it comes to han... (more)
Story
When I first bought the car, after putting on new tires, me and my son took a road trip to West Virginia, and we spent the night in the car at a scenic view near the mountains. The next morning on our way back into the city, we stopped at other scenic views and took in the scenery. It was peaceful and serene and our first journey in our new car.
Pros
It is efficient on gas and requires very little maintenance. Additionally, the ride is smooth and enjoyable. When riding over bumps in the road, the car absorbs almost all of the shock. When standing at a red light that turns green, you quickly notice that the car accelerates at a higher than normal speed, leaving behind the other drivers on the road quickly behind in the rear view. When I am out in traffic, everyone turns and looks at the car, then at me. I guess they are wondering how I could afford such a classy, expensive car
Cons
Even though the car requires very little maintenance, when it does require maintenance, it is expensive. Nothing is typical when it comes to this car. From the motor oil to the transmission fluid, all the fluids in this car are specially formulated. That means not only are the products expensive, they can be difficult to locate as well. Additionally, you Must take this car to a specialized shot in order to receive repairs, wither the dealership or a dodge specific repair shop. Not a lot of mechanics are knowledgeable about the vehicle, and most repairs require power tools instead of your n... (more)
