I purchased this vehicle from a used car lot in Pearl, MS. I thought it would be a good vehicle because we have five kids in our family, and it provided enough room for everyone. The vehicle was in good shape but had quite a few miles on it. However, we had a mechanic look it over and decided to purchase it. The first fault was that it got very poor gas mileage. The windows began to hesitate when lowering or raising, and then they refused to do either. Shortly after that, the transmission began slipping, and the vehicle would no longer go in reverse. After trying to get the dealership to assist us in fixing the Durango, we simply parked it in the driveway.
Story
We were able to pull the family weekend camper to one of our great state parks here in Mississippi. Kids had a blast!!
Pros
The Durango had seating for seven passengers, which made it the perfect size for our large family. We have five kids, and it was vital that every child had their own seat and seatbelt. The third-row seat also folds down, so there is the option to load more into the vehicle when necessary. The Durango also had the capability to easily pull our small weekend camper with no problem. The eight-speed automatic transmission came in handy during a rare snow here in the Deep South. Acceleration was good, and it seemed relatively easy to handle even at high speeds. I felt safe while driving the Dur... (more)
Cons
Fuel economy in this vehicle was very poor. We got low gas mileage consistently. It was comfortable, but I still feel like it drives more like a truck than a passenger vehicle. The vehicle had a blind spot that made lane changes challenging, especially when towing.

I have always been a Jeep girl. I've bought three. But I was looking for something with a little bit more room and better gas mileage and lo and behold, I found my dream vehicle: The 2013 Dodge Durango. From the moment I sat in the driver's seat, I fell in love. It'd big. It's roomy. It's comfortable. My version has two bench seats and seats a total of seven (there is a version available with 4 captains chairs and a bench seat that seats six). The back row of seats folds down completely for extra storage. The second row of seats not only folds down, but they are completely removable, in case you need the entire vehicle to haul something. It's an All Wheel Drive vehicle, and while I had always had a 4X4 because I live in the snow belt, the Durango handles like a dream in the snow and sl... (more)
Story
It's just great to drive and it handles very well.
Pros
I love everything about the Durango. It's roomy. It's comfortable. It handles well.
Cons
I guess the only negative I have with the Durango is the price. They start around $30,000, but I have to say that it was worth the investment for me.
